Alright, listen up, y’all. We gotta figure out this football stuff, this… uh… fantasy league thing my grandson got me into. He says it’s important, somethin’ ’bout Jerome Ford and Saquon Barkley. Don’t know them boys from Adam, but he says I gotta pick one for my team this week, Week 15 he calls it.
Now, from what I gather, this Barkley fella plays for the… Eagles, I think? My grandson was yellin’ at the TV the other night, somethin’ ’bout Barkley runnin’ all over them… Commanders, was it? Said he “wore the defense down.” Sounds like he’s a strong one, like a bull in a china shop, you know? He’s probably good, that Barkley. He did good on Thursday night, my grandson said so. That’s gotta count for somethin’, right?
Then there’s this Ford fella. Jerome Ford. Sounds like a car, not a football player. But these websites, they keep pittin’ him against Barkley. “Who to start?” they ask. Well, if Barkley’s so good, why are they even askin’? Must be somethin’ to this Ford kid, I reckon.
- My grandson showed me this thing, a “draft tool” he called it. Said it helps you pick players. And wouldn’t you know it, Ford’s name popped up there too.
- So I asked him, “Who’s better, this Ford or that Barkley?” And he just mumbled somethin’ ’bout “PPR projections” and “expert advice.” Kids these days, with their fancy talk.
Now, these “experts,” they’re sayin’ all sorts of things. Some say start Barkley, some say start Ford. It’s enough to make your head spin! They talk about “standard leagues” and “trades.” I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that. I just wanna know who’s gonna get me more points, or touchdowns, or whatever it is you need in this game.
One website, it even let me compare them directly. Jerome Ford versus Saquon Barkley, Week 13, Week 15… they got it all covered. Said somethin’ ’bout “instant advice” from a hundred experts. A hundred! And they still can’t agree! Makes you wonder if they know what they’re talkin’ about.
This “PPR” thing, my grandson tried to explain it. Somethin’ ’bout catches bein’ worth points. So, if Ford catches more balls, maybe he’s better, even if Barkley runs harder? See, this is why I stick to watchin’ the games, not playin’ these fancy computer games. But I promised my grandson I’d try, so here I am, tryin’ to make sense of it all.
Another thing they said was to check if they’re healthy. Makes sense, I guess. Can’t do much runnin’ if your leg’s all busted up. So, I gotta find out if Ford or Barkley is hurt. More homework, just to pick a dang football player! This is harder than plantin’ taters, I tell ya.
So, what’s a gal to do? Barkley sounds like the safe bet, the one who’s been doin’ good. But Ford, he’s got them experts talkin’, so maybe he’s got a surprise up his sleeve. Maybe he’s gonna run like the wind and catch all them balls and get me a million points! Or maybe not. Maybe he’ll just trip over his own feet and get nothin’. That’s the thing with these games, you never know.
I guess I’ll just have to flip a coin or somethin’. Or maybe I’ll just ask my grandson again, and hope he doesn’t start talkin’ that “PPR projection” nonsense again. Just tell me who to pick, boy! That’s all I need. But if I had to pick right now, based on what I heard and seen… I think I’d lean towards Barkley. He seems like the real deal, the one who can get the job done. But Ford… that Ford fella, he’s got me thinkin’. Maybe he’s the one who will surprise everyone. This football stuff is complicated, y’all.
Anyway, I’ve done my best tryin’ to figure out this Jerome Ford and Saquon Barkley situation. Hopefully, I can pick the right guy and make my grandson proud, even if I don’t understand half of what’s goin’ on. At the end of the day, it’s just a game, right? Right?
