Alright, so, I got into this whole “fort emoji” thing today. I was just messing around, trying to find some cool emojis for a project, and I stumbled upon this whole world of fort-related emojis.
It all started when I needed a symbol to represent a sort of “safe space” or a “base” in a game idea I’m toying with. Initially, I thought, “Hey, why not a castle emoji?”

So I put that in there. But then, I started digging deeper. I found a bunch of other emojis that could kind of relate to forts or fortresses.
I went down this rabbit hole, reading about what each emoji means.

There’s this one emoji, the castle 🏰, which is pretty straightforward. It’s all about medieval castles, royalty, and that sort of historical vibe.

But then, I found even more! There’s like a whole bunch of them that can be connected to the idea of a fort in some way. I started adding some of them to my project, just to see how they looked.
I ended up using a few different ones, not just the castle. There are more than 20 emojis that could somehow be linked to forts, although I didn’t use all of them.

It was interesting to learn about the different meanings and uses of these emojis. Like, some of them are used for things you wouldn’t expect.

For instance, the sleepy face emoji 😪, it’s not just for being tired. People use it for being sad or sick too. I also learned about others like the face with hand over mouth emoji 🤭, which can mean someone’s laughing, embarrassed, or shocked, and the face with open eyes and hand over mouth emoji 🫢, used for shock or secrecy.

Also, the face with peeking eye emoji 🫣, which shows anticipation, apprehension, and unease, or even mischief and curiosity.

I didn’t use these in the end for my fort project, but it was cool to learn about them.
After all this, I finalized my emoji choices for the project. It was a fun little adventure.

I never thought I’d spend so much time thinking about emojis, but here we are. It just goes to show, there’s always something new to learn, even in the most unexpected places. Emoji are fun!
