Okay, so I’ve been thinking a lot about tattoos lately, especially on athletes. You see a lot of ink on NBA players and even in the NFL, but what about golf? That got me thinking, “Are there any professional golfers with tattoos?”
So, I started digging around. First, I just googled “professional golfers with tattoos.” Honestly, not a ton came up right away. It’s not like basketball where it’s super common. But I wasn’t giving up that easy.
I decided to look into specific golfers. I made a list of some of the top names, like Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Phil Mickelson. I figured if anyone had tattoos, it would be these guys, right?
- Tiger Woods – Nope, nothing.
- Rory McIlroy – Clean as a whistle.
- Phil Mickelson – Nada.
Man, this was tougher than I thought. I expanded my search to include some of the younger, maybe more rebellious, players. I checked out Rickie Fowler, known for his colorful outfits, and Justin Thomas. Still, nothing.
Then, I remembered this one golfer, Tommy Fleetwood, with his long hair and kind of a rock-and-roll vibe. I did a deep dive into his photos on Instagram. Finally! I spotted something on his forearm. It was small and hard to make out, but it looked like a tattoo.
After that, I found a few more. Not many, but a few. It seems like tattoos aren’t super popular in the professional golf world, but they do exist. I discovered that some of the players with tattoos have them in places that are usually covered by their clothes, like their back or their legs. Maybe it’s a personal preference, or maybe they just don’t want to draw too much attention to them.
My conclusion
So, yeah, there are professional golfers with tattoos, but it’s not as widespread as in some other sports. It was a fun little research project, though. I learned that even in a sport that seems pretty traditional, there’s always room for a little bit of individuality.
From what I saw, golf is still pretty clean-cut. But who knows, maybe in a few years, we’ll see more tattooed golfers on the course. It’s just something that made me think, and I figured I’d share my little investigation with you all.
