Well now, if you’re wonderin’ about them Denver Nuggets in 2017, lemme tell ya, they had a mighty fine bunch of players that year. The team ain’t got no shortage of talent, I’ll tell ya that much. They played hard, did their best, and gave them fans somethin’ to cheer about. Now, back in 2017, the Nuggets had some real good ball players, folks who could run up and down that court like nobody’s business. Let me take ya through it a bit, and you’ll get a feel for what that team looked like in that season.
1. Nikola Jokić – Now, there ain’t no doubt about it, Nikola Jokić was the big star for the Nuggets in 2017. That man could pass the ball like a magician and score like a pro. He was a big fella, standing at 7 feet tall, and everyone knew he was the backbone of the team. He played as the center, and he sure did make a difference out there on that court. Folks in Denver were real proud of him.
2. Jamal Murray – This young man, Jamal Murray, he was a real spark plug for the Nuggets. He was only a kid back then, but he sure could shoot that ball. He played point guard, and let me tell ya, he was quick on his feet. Had a way of getting to the hoop and hitting them shots. The fans sure loved watchin’ him play.
3. Gary Harris – Now, don’t forget Gary Harris. He was another one of them good players for Denver in 2017. Gary, he was a shooting guard, and that man could make them long shots. He didn’t miss much from the three-point line either. His defense was tough, too, and he helped out on both ends of the court.
4. Wilson Chandler – Over on the wing, you had Wilson Chandler, a veteran who’d been around the league for a few years. He was one of them players that knew how to do a little bit of everything. He played small forward, and he could score, rebound, and defend. You need someone like Wilson to round out your team.
5. Paul Millsap – Now, Paul Millsap came in during the 2017 season, and let me tell ya, he made an impact right away. He was a power forward, and his experience in the league helped the Nuggets a lot. He was a strong rebounder and could score inside. He brought some much-needed leadership to the team.
6. Juancho Hernangómez – Then you had Juancho Hernangómez, a young fella from Spain who played small forward. He wasn’t quite a starter, but he sure did bring some energy off the bench. He could shoot the ball, and he worked hard on defense. He showed a lot of promise in that 2017 season.
7. Malik Beasley – Another young buck on the team, Malik Beasley played shooting guard and spent a lot of time coming off the bench. He had a quick first step, and he was good at scoring when he got the chance. Didn’t see too many minutes, but he made the most of them.
8. Mason Plumlee – Oh, and you can’t forget about Mason Plumlee. He was the backup center, a big man who could get rebounds and block shots. He didn’t score much, but he sure made his presence known under the basket. A big body like his is always a plus in the game of basketball.
9. Jameer Nelson – Jameer Nelson, now he was a veteran point guard, played for the Nuggets in 2017 too. He didn’t play as much as some of the younger fellas, but he brought a lot of experience to the team. He was a good leader on and off the court, always helping them younger players out.
10. Kenneth Faried – Now, Kenneth Faried, he was one of them high-energy players, always hustlin’ out there on the court. Faried played power forward, and he was known for his rebounds and hustle. He didn’t care if he had to dive on the floor for a loose ball or battle for a rebound – he’d do it all.
11. Trey Lyles – Trey Lyles was a young fella who played power forward. He wasn’t a star, but he was solid, gave a good effort every time he got the chance to play. He had some skills, but it was all about getting more experience for him in 2017.
12. Emmanuel Mudiay – Now, Emmanuel Mudiay was one of them point guards who had his ups and downs, but you couldn’t deny the kid had some talent. He struggled a bit in 2017, but he was still young, and the Nuggets were hopin’ he’d figure things out.
13. Nikola Jokić’s Backup – Behind Jokić, you had some solid players. Guys like Mason Plumlee and Trey Lyles filled in when needed, but the big man was the one who made everything run smooth. You could always count on Jokić to deliver when the game was on the line.
The 2017 Denver Nuggets had a lot of talent, folks, but they weren’t quite there yet. They finished the season with a 40-42 record, just missing out on the playoffs by a hair. But let me tell ya, with players like Jokić, Murray, and Harris, they sure looked like a team on the rise. They worked hard and showed they had the heart to go far in the future.
Now, I reckon that’s about all I can tell ya about the 2017 Denver Nuggets. A good bunch of players, and while they didn’t make it to the playoffs that year, they sure set the stage for better things to come in the seasons after. If you’re a Nuggets fan, I know you’re lookin’ forward to what’s next!
