Okay, let’s talk about the Genshin 4.5 banners. I’ve been playing this game for a while now, and banner season always gets me planning.

Getting Ready
So, I first heard the news about who was coming in 4.5. We had Chiori as the new character, which was cool, always like seeing new faces and kits. Then the reruns were Arataki Itto, Neuvillette, and Kaedehara Kazuha. That’s a strong lineup, honestly. Neuvillette and Kazuha are super popular for a reason, real powerhouses.
My own stash of Primogems wasn’t looking too bad. I’d been saving up a bit since the last banners I was interested in. I skipped a few, trying to be disciplined, you know? My main thought process went something like this:
- Chiori: New Geo character. Looked stylish. Geo isn’t my main element, but I was curious. Definitely gonna try some pulls.
- Itto: Already have him. He’s fun, but I wasn’t really chasing constellations. Probably a skip for me this time.
- Neuvillette: Don’t have him. Heard he’s totally broken, melts everything. Very tempting.
- Kazuha: Also don’t have him. Everyone says he’s amazing for grouping and buffing. Also very tempting.
Decisions, decisions. Plus, they threw a curveball with that new banner type.
The New Chronicled Wish Thing
Yeah, the Chronicled Wish. That was new. Saw it featured characters like Eula, Mona, Albedo, Klee, Diluc, Jean, and some weapons too, like Beacon of the Reed Sea and Hunter’s Path. The system was a bit different. You had to chart a course towards a specific 5-star you wanted. If you didn’t get it, your guarantee would carry over, but only for that specific banner type. It wouldn’t affect the normal character or weapon banners. Seemed okay, maybe a good way to get older characters you missed. I considered maybe trying for Albedo if I had spare wishes after trying for the main banners.
Pulling Time – Phase 1
Alright, banners finally dropped. I decided to go for Chiori first. Felt like trying for the new character. Started doing my pulls. Single pulls, multi-pulls, the usual ritual. Got a few Gorou and Yun Jin copies, which was fine. Then, the screen flashed gold! My heart skipped a beat. Who was it gonna be? Bam! It was… Qiqi. Lost the 50/50. Okay, okay, it happens. Annoying, but hey, at least the next 5-star on this banner was guaranteed to be Chiori.
Pulling Time – Phase 2
So, back to pulling on Chiori’s banner. Had to dig deeper into my savings now. Kept going. Felt like it took forever, probably went close to soft pity again. More 4-stars rolled in. Then, finally! Another gold star! This time, it had to be her. And yes, Chiori arrived! Phew. Mission accomplished on that front. Felt pretty good to secure the new character.
Trying the Chronicled Wish
I still had some Primogems left, not a huge amount, but enough for a few pulls. Thought, what the heck, let’s try this new Chronicled Wish. I set my course for Albedo, since I’d missed him on his previous runs. Did a couple of 10-pulls. Got some standard banner 4-star weapons and characters. Then, on maybe the third 10-pull, gold star again! I was surprised, didn’t expect it so soon. Was it Albedo? Nope. It was the Skyward Atlas catalyst. Well, okay. A 5-star weapon is still a 5-star, useful for someone. But yeah, that used up my guarantee point on that banner. Learned that getting any 5-star resets it, not just the one you charted. Good to know for the future.
Wrapping Up
So, that was my 4.5 banner experience. Walked away with Chiori after losing a 50/50, and picked up a Skyward Atlas from the new banner instead of Albedo. Used up a good chunk of my Primogems. Chiori seems interesting, gotta figure out how to build her and who to team her up with. The Chronicled Wish is an interesting addition, maybe useful if you’re really targeting an older character or weapon and have lots saved up, but that guarantee mechanic is something to watch out for. Overall, pretty standard Gacha experience – some luck, some disappointment, and now it’s back to saving for whatever comes next!
