Hey everyone, so I’ve been getting into crossword puzzles lately. It’s a fun way to kill time, you know? I came across this one the other day that really stumped me. The clue was “2011 Stanley Cup winners.” I’m not the biggest hockey fan, so I was totally blanking.
First, I tried to think of any hockey teams I actually knew. But most of them were just random names that popped into my head, nothing specific to 2011. I even tried recalling if I watched the Stanley Cup that year, but my memory was failing me. It was a long time ago!
Then, I started looking for a crossword solver online. I figured there had to be something out there that could help me. I found a couple of sites that claimed to have the answers to all sorts of crossword clues. So, I typed in “2011 Stanley Cup winners” and waited.
Boom! The first site I checked gave me a bunch of possible answers. Most were gibberish. I realized I needed to be more specific. I found another site that mentioned the clue having appeared in the “Thomas Joseph” crossword, so I searched for that. Still, the answers were all over the place, ranging from 3 letters to 12 letters.
Finally, after some more digging, I came across a result that said the clue was last seen on June 20th. This narrowed it down, and I found a few sites that were specifically talking about the June 20th crossword. One of them listed just one possible answer, which was a shortened version of the team’s name. I think I’ve got it!
My Findings
- First try: I searched without being very specific, just “2011 Stanley Cup winners.”
- Getting warmer: I added the puzzle name, “Thomas Joseph,” to my search.
- Jackpot: I focused on the date, June 20th, and found the likely answer.
It took a bit of effort, but I finally figured it out. It’s funny how these little puzzles can take you on a whole journey. I might have to actually watch some hockey now, so I’m better prepared next time! It feels good to finally solve that clue.
