Okay, so today I decided to dig into the Detroit Tigers vs. Cleveland Guardians game and pull out some player stats. It wasn’t anything too fancy, just wanted to see how some of the guys were performing.
Getting Started

First things first, I needed to find a good source for the stats. you know, somewhere reliable that wouldn’t steer me wrong. there are a few good options.
Finding the Data
Once I got to the site, I had to find the specific game. They usually have a listing of all the recent games, so I just scrolled through until I found the Tigers-Guardians matchup.
Diving into the Stats
After selecting the game, it was time to look for the player stats. Usually, there is a “box score”, sometimes a “game stats” button, click it and boom. I had a table with all the players listed, along with their stats for that game.
I was mostly interested in a few key things:
- Batting: Hits, runs, RBIs, and maybe batting average.
- Pitching:For pitchers, I wanted to see innings pitched, strikeouts, earned runs, and ERA.
My Observations (Just Examples!)
I started jotting down some notes. Don’t take that my word, I just like to write down some thoughts.
I looked the key player’s stats on both sides.
It was pretty interesting to see how some players performed, so I pick up a note and write it down.
Wrapping Up
So, that’s pretty much it! It was a simple little project, but it was cool to see how easy it is to grab some player stats and get a better feel for how a game went. Didn’t take too long, and now I have a better handle on how some of the players are doing.
