Okay, so, I’ve been following the NBA for a while now, and you know, keeping tabs on the Cleveland Cavaliers’ standings has become a bit of a routine for me. I remember, initially, I just wanted to see how they were doing after that killer win against the Oklahoma City Thunder. So, I start by opening up my browser and I type in “Cavs standings.”
First thing I notice, they’re sitting pretty at the top. A solid 33-5, which is really good. I think to myself, “That’s my team!” It was a good feeling, you know? Seeing your team at the top.
I dig a little deeper, just to see what others are saying. I find some articles talking about power rankings. It’s cool to see the Cavs are getting some recognition. They were ranked number one after beating the Thunder, who were previously at the top. I was so proud. They beat the top dog!
Then, I go check the stats. I’m no expert, but I like to look at the numbers. I find out they’ve been giving up a bit fewer points per 100 possessions compared to last season. I’m thinking, “That’s a good sign, their defense is getting better.” But then, I see they’ve been struggling in the third quarter, giving up a lot of points. One guy named Atkinson mentioned something about a “disconnect between the mental aggressiveness.” It sounded a little intense to me, but I understand what he means. It’s like, they’re losing focus during that time.
- Wins: 33
- Losses: 5
- Rank: 1st in the Eastern Conference (at the time)
So, yeah, that’s pretty much how I keep up with the Cavs’ standings. It’s a bit of a rollercoaster, but that’s what makes it exciting, right? I can really feel I am a fan of Cavs.
This is a good habit, I will keep tracking. Always fun to see where they stand and how they’re performing. Go Cavs!
