Alright, so I was looking into this whole UFL Championship Game thing, and I gotta say, the attendance numbers got me curious. I started digging around to see what the deal was with how many people actually showed up to watch the Birmingham Stallions take on the San Antonio Brahmas.
First off, I looked up the official numbers. Turns out, the game was held at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis. I found out that the official attendance for this game was 27,396. Not too shabby, right? But then, I wanted to know more. What was the average attendance for the whole UFL season?
- I found out that across all 43 games played from late March to mid-June, the average attendance was about 13,512 per game.
- Doing some quick math, that puts the total season attendance at just under 581,016.
- St. Louis seemed to be a good place for them to be averaging 12,817 per game according to my research.
I thought that the numbers were pretty interesting considering it’s a new league and all. They called it their inaugural season, which is just a fancy way of saying it was their first one. It seems like they’re still trying to figure things out, especially when it comes to getting people to show up.
My Thoughts
Honestly, it’s kind of a mixed bag. 27,000-plus people at the championship game is decent, but those average numbers are nothing to write home about. I guess time will tell if this league can really take off and draw in bigger crowds. Maybe they need to work on their marketing, or maybe it just takes time for people to get into a new football league. It will be fun to see how they do in the following seasons.
