Okay, so, I decided to make a trophy replica. Not for any particular reason, just thought it’d be a fun little project to do. I’m not the most artistic person, but hey, who needs talent when you’ve got determination, right?
First things first, I needed materials. I figured the easiest thing to do would be to grab a couple of those disposable paper cups. You know, the ones you get at parties? I found two that were exactly the same, which was perfect. Then came the paint. I wanted it to look all shiny and grand, so I went with gold. Acrylic paint seemed like the best bet, but I guess spray paint could’ve worked too. I slapped on a coat of gold paint, and it looked… well, like a gold paper cup. But I wasn’t done yet!
I let that dry for, like, 10-20 minutes. I’m not the most patient person, so I might’ve jumped the gun a bit, but whatever, it seemed dry enough. Then I got this idea to make it look more like a real trophy. I remembered seeing some fancy trophies that had these cool designs on the base, so I tried to copy that. I took some cardboard, cut it into a circle-ish shape, and painted that gold too.
- Find two identical paper cups
- Paint them gold (or any color you like)
- Let the paint dry
- Make a base out of cardboard (optional)
- Paint the base
- Glue everything together
Once everything was dry, I glued the cups together, one upside down on top of the other, to make the classic trophy shape. Then I glued that onto the cardboard base. And you know what? It didn’t look half bad! I mean, it wasn’t exactly something you’d see in the World Cup, but for a homemade job, I was pretty proud of myself.
My Makeshift Trophy
I ended up putting my little trophy on my desk. It’s a nice little reminder that you don’t need to be a pro to make something cool. And hey, if anyone asks, I can just say I won it for being awesome. It’s not technically a lie, right?
Anyways, that was my little adventure in trophy making. It was a fun, simple project, and it actually turned out better than I expected. Maybe I’ll try making another one sometime, who knows! Maybe silver next time?
