Alright, so I’ve been messing around in Wuthering Waves quite a bit lately, you know, just exploring and seeing what’s what. Heard some folks talking about the Rangers series weapons, nothing fancy, but kinda like starter gear you pick up along the way. Figured I should probably see about grabbing them myself.

Getting Started with the Hunt
So, first thing I did was just… wander. Seriously. I remembered seeing weapons like these popping out of those chests scattered everywhere. The basic ones, the slightly better ones, they all seem to drop this stuff. Didn’t really have a map or anything, just picked a direction and started running, climbing, gliding. You know how it is.
It wasn’t like I was targeting just these Rangers weapons, obviously. You open chests, you get all sorts of junk, materials, currency, the usual. But I kept an eye out. Every time a weapon popped up, I checked if it was one of the Rangers set. Took a while, honestly. You open a bunch of chests and sometimes get duplicates of what you already have, or just stuff you don’t need.
Finding a Few
Eventually, I stumbled upon the Rangers sword. Just popped out of a regular chest, nothing special. Looked alright, basic design. Felt kinda satisfying, you know? Like, okay, goal number one achieved, sort of. Then, maybe an hour later, exploring some ruins, I found the Rangers gauntlets. Same deal, basic chest drop.
I started trying to be a bit more systematic, clearing out sections of the map, hitting every glowing spot I saw. It became a bit of a grind, not gonna lie. Running around, fighting mobs guarding chests, solving simple puzzles. Sometimes you get lucky and find a few chests clustered together.
- Found the Sword first.
- Then the Gauntlets showed up.
- Took longer to find the Broadblade, that one seemed rarer for me.
- The Pistols and Rectifier also dropped eventually, just through sheer volume of opening chests.
Using Them – Are They Any Good?
So, I equipped a couple of them on my characters. The Rangers sword went on my main explorer for a bit. Honestly? They’re okay. Like, they do the job when you’re starting out or haven’t found anything better. They’re definitely a step up from the absolute basic grey weapons.
Don’t expect miracles though. They get outclassed pretty fast once you start getting the 3-star weapons from forging or gacha pulls, and especially when you land your first 4-star. But for that early game exploration phase? Yeah, they work. They give you something to put in that weapon slot that isn’t complete trash.
It felt like finding standard gear in any exploration game, really. You find it, you use it for a bit, then you find something better and swap it out. The Rangers series fits that role perfectly. Didn’t cost anything but time exploring, which I was doing anyway.
So yeah, that was my little adventure tracking down the Rangers weapons. Just a matter of opening a ton of chests while running around the world. Nothing too complicated, just gotta put the time in. They served their purpose for a little while before getting replaced.
