Okay, so I wanted to talk about how I went about getting and building up a specific card in Tears of Themis. It wasn’t anything super strategic, more like just my own way of doing things, you know? It started when I saw this one particular card – I think it was an Artem SSR, the art just really grabbed me. I decided, right then, I had to get it.

First thing, obviously, was saving up. Man, that was the hard part. I basically stopped pulling on any other banner. Every S-Chip I got from daily tasks, weekly rewards, events, story chapters, everything went into the piggy bank. I even resisted the temptation to buy those stamina packs sometimes. It felt like ages.
- Did all my daily Temple of Trials debates.
- Cleared out event shops for those S-Chips.
- Read through card stories I hadn’t finished for the rewards.
- Pushed through main story chapters I’d been lazy about.
Then the banner finally dropped. My hands were literally sweating a bit, you know how it is. I had saved up enough for maybe, like, 80 pulls? Not quite pity, but close enough to feel hopeful. I started doing single pulls first, superstitious I guess. Nothing. Then I switched to 10-pulls.
First 10-pull, got an SR I already had. Okay, fine. Second, third, fourth… more SRs, some duplicates. My S-Chip stash was dwindling. I started getting that familiar gacha anxiety. Fifth 10-pull… still nothing. Then, on the sixth 10-pull, around the 50-something pull mark overall, the animation changed! Gold light! But… it was a different SSR. An off-banner one. I mean, an SSR is an SSR, but damn, it wasn’t the Artem card I wanted.
Hitting Pity and Leveling Up
I was pretty bummed but kept going. Had to burn through almost all my remaining S-Chips. Finally, pull number 78 or something close to pity, BAM! There it was. The Artem card I’d been saving for. Relief washed over me. It felt good, not gonna lie.
Okay, getting the card is just step one, right? Now I had to actually make it usable. It starts at level 1, totally useless in tougher debates. So, the grind began again, but a different kind.
I threw all the Stellin and Oracle of Justice materials I had at it. Leveled it up as high as I could immediately. Then came the evolution part. Needed those specific character fragments and elemental chips. Ran the Anomaly levels like crazy. Used up a ton of stamina. It took a few days of consistent grinding just to get the materials for the first evolution.
Then you gotta level it up again. More Stellin, more Oracles. Then the second evolution grind. And skills! Don’t forget the skills. Collecting those skill upgrade materials from the Study levels… another daily chore. I focused on its main skill first, the one that seemed most impactful.
It’s a slow process, building up a card properly. You farm materials, level up, evolve, farm more, level up again, enhance skills. Day in, day out. But seeing its influence stat climb higher and higher, seeing it perform better in debates, it feels like progress. Plus, I finally got to read the card’s story, which was nice after wanting it for so long.

So yeah, that was my little journey with that one Artem card. A lot of saving, a bit of luck (and unluck), and then a whole lot of grinding. But hey, it’s part of the game. Now it’s one of my strongest cards. Pretty satisfying, all things considered.
