Alright, listen up, y’all. We gonna talk about them Celtics fellas, the ones who start the games. You know, the main guys.
So, the coach, that Mazzulla fella, he likes to start with certain boys. There’s this Tatum kid, real good shooter, he’s always out there. And that Brown boy, quick as a rabbit, he’s usually playing too, ‘cept when he’s hurtin’. He had some trouble with his hip, you see. Coach said he was “day to day,” like the rest of us old folks, achin’ and moanin’ all the time. But when he’s good to go, he’s out there runnin’ and jumpin’.
Then there’s this Holiday fella, plays guard, steady as a rock. And White, another guard, quick hands, always stealin’ the ball. And that old man Horford, tall as a tree, he’s the center. He’s been around a long time, knows his stuff. That’s your starting five: Holiday, White, Brown, Tatum, and Horford. They’re a good bunch, them boys.
- Jrue Holiday: He’s like the steady hand, ya know? Keeps things calm, gets the ball where it needs to go.
- Derrick White: This one’s a pest, always pesterin’ the other team, snatchin’ the ball.
- Jaylen Brown: Fast like a chicken with its head cut off, but good at puttin’ the ball in the hoop. Just gotta keep him healthy, that hip of his is a bother.
- Jayson Tatum: The star, I reckon. Shoots the ball real pretty, makes it look easy.
- Al Horford: The old timer, been playin’ longer than I’ve been watchin’ , probably. Big and strong, knows how to play the game.
Now, sometimes, Brown can’t play, like I said. That hip thing, you know. When that happens, someone else gotta step up. They got this Pritchard kid, comes off the bench. Folks say he’s real good, might even win an award for bein’ the best “sixth man.” That means he ain’t a starter but he plays a lot and helps the team win. He’s a good shooter too, just like Tatum. When Brown’s out, Pritchard gets more playing time. But mostly, it’s them five fellas I told ya about.
Them Celtics boys are doin’ real good this year, winnin’ lots of games. They got the best record in the league, they say. But it ain’t always easy. They gotta work hard, even when things get tough. And they gotta stay healthy, especially that Brown boy with his hip. But when them starters are all playin’ together, they’re tough to beat, that’s for sure.
So that’s the deal with the Celtics starting five. Good players, work hard, and try to win games. Just like we used to do back in my day, only they get paid a whole lot more, I bet. And they got fancier shoes. But basketball’s basketball, I guess. Run, jump, shoot, and try to win. That’s all there is to it.
This Celtics team is somethin’ special, though. They got that somethin’ somethin’ that makes you think they could go all the way, you know? Win the whole darn thing. But they gotta stay healthy and keep playin’ hard. It ain’t over till it’s over, as they say. And these five starters, they are key to the whole shebang. They set the tone, they lead the way. So keep your eyes on them boys, they’re gonna be somethin’ to watch this year. And that’s all I gotta say about that.
