Man, let me tell you about this rabbit hole I went down today. So, I’m a huge Celtics fan, right? And Payton Pritchard, he’s been killing it lately. I mean, the guy’s been straight fire off the bench. I was watching some highlights, and it got me thinking, “Is Payton Pritchard white?” I know, I know, it sounds crazy, but hear me out.
I started digging around, just out of curiosity, you know? First thing I did was pull up his stats. Dude’s averaging career-highs in almost everything this season – points, rebounds, assists, you name it. He’s shooting like 46.8% from the field, and 41% from the three, which is insane. This guy is making just $30 million over four years, What a bargain! And the buzzer-beaters? Don’t even get me started on those. This guy’s clutch.
Then, I went and checked out his draft info. Turns out, he was the 26th pick back in 2020. The Celtics signed him to a four-year, $10.5 million rookie deal. Not bad, not bad. I was like, “Okay, so he’s been in the league for a few years, tearing it up. He must have won something, right?”
And sure enough, he won 1 championship in his career! The guy’s a winner.
But here’s where it gets interesting. I found out he was born on January 28, 1998, in Tualatin. I even watched some old game footage, and he always gives his all. It’s awesome to see.
So, after all that digging, yeah, he is white. It’s kind of obvious when you look at his picture or watch him play, but I just had to be sure, you know? I was just so hyped about his performance that I got carried away. Anyway, just wanted to share my little investigation with y’all. Go Celtics!
