Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this fantasy football thing for a while now, and man, it’s a rollercoaster. This week, I was staring at my lineup, and I got to this one player, Javonte Williams, and I’m like, “Do I start this guy or not?” It’s Week 18, the last week of the regular fantasy season, so every decision is huge.
First thing I did was hit up this tool, the “Who Should I Start” thing on 4for4. It’s pretty neat, you can compare players side by side. I typed in Javonte’s name and a couple of other running backs I was considering. I spent a good chunk of time looking at their stats, matchups, you name it. This tool gives you all sorts of data, it’s a bit overwhelming, but it is helpful.
Then I remembered the Pro Football Network’s Start/Sit Optimizer. I jumped over there, plugged in my league settings, and put Javonte in the mix. This thing crunches a ton of numbers and spits out advice. It felt like I was getting a second opinion from some fantasy football guru.
- Checked out some articles about “start ’em, sit ’em” for running backs.
- Looked at Javonte’s recent games, especially since Week 11. His performance has been a bit all over the place.
- Considered his carries, yards per carry, and especially how many of those carries were on first and second downs.
I also dug into some expert advice, like from 100+ experts or something, to see what they were saying about starting Javonte this week. It’s always good to see what the so-called experts think, although, let’s be real, they’re just guessing like the rest of us. I also checked out Kendre Miller. I wanted to compare Javonte Williams and Kendre Miller because they are in the same team.
I even looked at Javonte’s fantasy profile for the whole 2024 season. I mean, his longest run was just 21 yards, and his yards per carry weren’t exactly mind-blowing. But still, the dude’s been getting a decent number of carries, so he’s definitely involved in the game. And finally, I saw one of his three touchdowns came on fourth down.
After all this, I was still on the fence. I mean, do I trust the numbers, the experts, or just my gut? In the end, I made my decision. And you know what? That’s what makes this whole fantasy football thing fun, right? It’s all about making those tough calls and then either celebrating or kicking yourself later.
So yeah, that’s my little adventure with deciding on Javonte Williams this week. What a ride! Next week, it’s gonna be someone else, another dilemma, another story. That’s the life of a fantasy football player, I guess.
