Alright, alright, let me tell ya ’bout this fight, this Jon Jones versus Dominick Reyes thing. Don’t know much about all them fancy moves, but I watched it, and boy, was it somethin’.
Jon Jones, yeah, that fella, they say he’s the best. Always winnin’ and all. But this Reyes fella, he gave Jon Jones a real run for his money, I tell ya. It was a tough one, even I could see that.
They was punchin’ and kickin’ and grapplin’. All over the place they went. Reyes, he was landin’ some good shots, I thought maybe, just maybe, he had it. Jon Jones, though, he’s tough as an old boot. Kept comin’ back, kept fightin’. It was back and forth, back and forth, like a seesaw.
- Jon Jones, they say, he hit more than anyone in his weight class. Lots and lots of punches and kicks. More than anyone else ever did, can you believe it? That’s what they told me on the TV.
- And that Reyes boy, he was swingin’ hard too. He gave it his all, I’ll give him that.
This fight, it went on and on, five rounds they said. Five rounds of them beatin’ on each other. Must’ve been tired, I reckon. I get tired just walkin’ to the mailbox. But them fellas, they kept goin’. That’s somethin’, ain’t it?
They say it was the hardest fight Jon Jones ever had. Even harder than that other fella, Gustaf…Gustafs… somethin’ like that. Said that first fight with that Gustaf fella was a real tough one too. But this Reyes fight, they say it was even tougher. Imagine that.
Now, I ain’t no judge, but I thought Reyes did pretty good. He landed some big punches. Made Jon Jones wobble a bit. But in the end, them judges, they gave it to Jon Jones. Said he won. Close fight, though. Real close. Folks was arguin’ about it after, sayin’ Reyes shoulda won. I don’t know nothin’ ‘bout that, but it sure was excitin’.
Dominick Reyes, poor fella, they say he wasn’t the same after. Lost himself, they said. That’s sad, ain’t it? To fight so hard and then lose like that, it can break ya, I guess. He was a good fighter, that Reyes. Gave it his all.
Jon Jones, after that, he went up in weight. Got bigger, I guess. He’s fightin’ them heavyweights now. Big fellas, those heavyweights. Strong as oxen. But Jon Jones, he’s tough. He’ll probably do alright, I reckon. He always does.
They got videos of the fight, if you wanna watch it. I seen some of the highlights. Them fellas movin’ fast, punches flyin’. It’s somethin’ to see, even if you don’t know much about fightin’ like me.
So yeah, that’s what I know ‘bout Jon Jones versus Dominick Reyes. A tough fight, a close fight. One fella winnin’, one fella losin’. That’s just how it goes sometimes, I guess. Life’s like that too, ain’t it? Ups and downs, wins and losses. You just gotta keep on keepin’ on, like them fighters. Keep on swingin’, even when you’re tired.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about fightin’ makes me hungry. Maybe I’ll make some fried chicken. That’ll stick to your ribs, that’s for sure. And it’s better than getting punched in the face, I’ll tell ya that.
Anyways, Jon Jones, Dominick Reyes, a fight to remember, even for an old lady like me. It was excitin’, that’s for sure. Made my heart beat faster than a hummingbird’s wings, I tell ya. But that’s enough fight talk for one day. Time for some good food and a little peace and quiet.
