Alright, let’s talk about this Kyle McCord fella and this NIL stuff. I ain’t no expert, ya know, but I hear things. People talkin’ ‘bout how much money these college kids are makin’ these days, it’s somethin’ else, I tell ya.
So, this Kyle McCord, he’s a quarterback, a football player. Seems like he’s pretty good at throwin’ that ball, ‘cause folks are willin’ to pay him big bucks. Big bucks, I say! I heard tell he’s makin’ somethin’ like $308,000 a year. Imagine that! More money than most folks see in a lifetime, and he’s just a young’un.
Now, they call it NIL, this money thing. Stands for somethin’… Name, Image, and Likeness, I think they said. Means these kids can get paid for usin’ their names and faces and such. Back in my day, you played for the love of the game, ya know? But times change, I guess. Can’t say I blame ‘em for gettin’ theirs, though.
- They say he’s one of the top earners in that ACC thing. That’s some fancy college football group, I reckon.
- And he ain’t the only one. Seems like there’s another fella, Marvin Harrison somethin’-or-other, makin’ even more. Over a million dollars! Land sakes! What they spendin’ all that money on, I wonder?
- And this fella, Kyle, he even got his own potato chip flavor. Can you believe that? A whole flavor named after him! Terrell’s Potato Chips, they call ‘em. Guess people really like his football playin’.
Now, I heard he used to play for Ohio State, big school, real popular. But then he up and left. Went to Syracuse, another school. Said it was a “business decision.” Well, I guess so! Heard he’s gonna make a million dollars just for playin’ one year at Syracuse. A million dollars! That’s more money than I ever made in a year, that’s for sure.
They got these NIL valuations, too. Folks figurin’ out how much these kids are worth. This Kyle, they say he’s worth around $134,000. But that was before he went to Syracuse and started makin’ the big bucks. I reckon it’s gone up now. They update them numbers every week, like it’s the stock market or somethin’. It’s all just a bit much for an old lady like me to understand.
Seems like quarterbacks get the most money, though. Makes sense, I guess. They’re the ones on TV all the time, throwin’ the ball and makin’ the plays. People know their names, their faces. That’s what this NIL thing is all about, ain’t it? Bein’ famous and gettin’ paid for it.
This Kyle McCord, he’s got a daddy, Derek. Guess he must be proud of his boy. Makin’ all that money playin’ football. It’s a different world now, that’s for sure. Kids gettin’ rich before they even get a real job. But hey, if someone wants to give ‘em the money, who am I to judge? Good for him, I say. Good for him.
So, that’s what I know about this Kyle McCord and this NIL stuff. He’s a football player, makes a lot of money, and even has his own potato chip flavor. It’s a crazy world we live in, but as long as he ain’t hurtin’ nobody, I say more power to him.
Anyways, I hope I explained it good enough for ya. It’s all just a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me, but that’s the gist of it. This Kyle fella, he’s doin’ alright for himself, that’s for sure.
