Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about Cody Savage and his wrestling moves, and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I figured I’d dive in and try to learn a few things myself, just to get a feel for it.
First, I watched a bunch of his matches online. Just straight-up observing, you know? I paused, rewound, and replayed key moments, trying to break down how he executed certain moves. It’s one thing to see it happen live, and another to really dissect it.
Getting a Feel for the Basics
- I started with some basic warm-ups, nothing crazy. Some stretches, some light cardio, just to get the blood flowing. I didn’t want to pull a muscle trying to imitate some high-flying maneuver.
- Then I focused on some fundamental wrestling stances. I practiced getting low, keeping my balance, and moving around in that crouched position. Felt awkward at first, I’ll be honest.
- I even tried a few basic takedowns, just against the air, no actual opponent. Just the motions, getting a feel for the leverage and weight distribution.
Next I tried, and I mean tried, to mimic some of his signature moves. I’m not gonna lie, most of them were way beyond my skill level. My body just doesn’t bend that way! It showed me my phsical fitness level needs some work.
The Results?
Well, I didn’t magically transform into a wrestling superstar overnight. But, I did gain a new appreciation for the athleticism and skill involved. It’s way harder than it looks. I now know how much practice it takes to do it.
It was a fun experiment, though. I definitely got a good workout, and I learned a little something about wrestling in the process. It makes you realize how much work these guys put in.
