Alright, listen up, y’all. Gonna tell ya ’bout this here…uh…how they call it… “requestin’ a trade” in that there MLB The Show 23 game. My grandkid, that whippersnapper, he’s always playin’ it. So I picked up a thing or two watchin’ him yell at the TV.
First off, it ain’t like orderin’ a burger at the drive-thru, ya hear? Ain’t no magic button you push and BAM! you’re on a new team. This thing, it takes time. Like growin’ corn, it does. You gotta be patient, or you’ll be stuck like a fly in molasses.
Now, from what I gather, you gotta talk to some fella, an “agent” they call him. He’s like your…middleman, I guess. You tell him you ain’t happy, you wanna go play somewhere else. But this agent fella, he don’t just pop up whenever you want. He comes around when he feels like it, kinda like that stray cat that comes beggin’ for scraps on the porch.
So you gotta wait. Wait for him to call ya up. They say it’s “sporadic,” which I reckon means whenever the game decides, not when you want it. Then, when he finally shows his face, you gotta tell him straight, “I wanna be traded!” Don’t beat around the bush, ain’t nobody got time for that.
- Wait for the agent: He’ll contact you when he feels like it.
- Tell him straight: No wishy-washy stuff, tell him you wanna trade.
- Be patient: It ain’t gonna happen overnight.
And get this, sometimes you can talk to your “manager” too. That’s another fella in the game, I guess he’s like the boss of the team. You can tell him you ain’t happy neither. Maybe he can put in a good word for ya, or maybe he’ll just ignore you. Who knows with these fellas in the game?
My grandkid, he got drafted by some team, the “Reds” he called ’em. Red like a rooster’s comb, I guess. He wanted outta there right quick. Told that agent fella the first chance he got. But guess what? That agent, he ain’t done nothin’! Two years gone by, and the boy’s still stuck. That agent, he’s about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.
Now, some folks say in the older games, you could just tell the agent anytime you wanted a trade. But this new game, MLB The Show 23, it ain’t like that no more. They took that away, just like they took away penny candy at the store. Makes things harder, that’s for sure.
And get this, there’s this other thing called “Franchise Mode.” That’s where you get to be the boss of the whole team, not just one player. In that mode, you can force a trade if you want. Just flip a switch in the settings, and you can swap players around like you’re tradin’ baseball cards. But that ain’t the same as gettin’ your own player traded, ya see?
So, to sum it all up, if you wanna get traded in MLB The Show 23, you gotta be patient, wait for that agent fella to call, and tell him you wanna go. And even then, there’s no guarantee. It’s like waitin’ for rain in a drought, sometimes it comes, sometimes it don’t. That’s just how it is. No use cryin’ over spilled milk, or in this case, a missed trade.
To talk to your agent, you gotta go to somethin’ called the “My Ballplayer” menu. Then you find somethin’ that says “Interactions.” That’s where you can jaw with the agent and tell him what you want. Tell him you want more money, tell him you wanna play for a winner, tell him you want a bigger locker, whatever you want! Just make sure he knows you ain’t happy where you are.
So that’s the long and short of it. It ain’t easy, but that’s life, ain’t it? You want somethin’, you gotta work for it. Even in a video game, it seems.
