Okay, so today I decided to try my hand at drawing Kiké Hernández. I’m no artist, but I figured, why not? It’s always fun to try something new, right?

Getting Started
First, I gathered my materials. I grabbed a regular old pencil, a piece of printer paper, and an eraser (because, let’s be real, there were gonna be mistakes!). I also pulled up a bunch of photos of Kiké on my phone to use as references. I needed different angles and expressions, you know, to get a good feel for his face.
The Rough Sketch
I started with a basic outline. Just a simple circle for the head, some lines for the neck and shoulders… really rough stuff. I wasn’t trying to be perfect, just getting the general proportions down. It looked more like a potato with a neck than Kiké at this point, honestly.
I then added some light guidelines for where the eyes, nose, and mouth should be. I kept erasing and redrawing, trying to get the placement right. It’s harder than it looks, I tell ya! Getting the eyes to look even remotely symmetrical was a real challenge.
Fleshing It Out
Once I had the basic shapes down, I started adding details. I focused on his eyes first, trying to capture that intense gaze he has. Then I moved on to the nose and mouth, trying to get the shape just right. It was a lot of looking at the reference photos, drawing a little, erasing a lot, and drawing some more. Slowly but surely, he started looking more human.
I focused on features, then his hair, and tried to add some shading to give the face some dimension, making it look less flat. This is where the reference photos really came in handy. I looked at where the shadows fell on his face and tried to replicate that with my pencil. I am no good at shadow.
The Final Touches
After what felt like hours, I added the final details.I was finished the drawing. The important is practice more, right?
It’s definitely not perfect, and it probably wouldn’t win any awards, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon, and I definitely learned a thing or two about drawing. Maybe I’ll try drawing another player sometime soon!
