So, I got this thing for tracking golf stats, right? And I’ve been super into Lexi Thompson lately. She’s got this killer drive, and I just had to see how I stacked up. It all started a few weeks ago, I was watching some LPGA tournament on TV, and Lexi was just bombing it down the fairway. I mean, seriously, the woman’s got a cannon for an arm. I figured, “Hey, I wanna know more about this.”
First thing I did was jump online and start digging around. I found out that her average driving distance is something crazy, like 275 yards. That’s insane! I grabbed my own clubs, headed to the driving range, and started whacking balls, trying to channel my inner Lexi.
I spent a good few hours each day just practicing my drives. I messed around with my stance, my grip, everything. It was a real trial-and-error process, I can tell you. Some days, I felt like I was getting it, other days, not so much.
Lexi’s Driving Power
Now, Lexi, she’s tall, like 6 feet, and that probably helps her get more power. Apparently, she averages around 267 yards off the tee and keeps it pretty straight, like over 60% accuracy. She can hit the ball with a speed of about 150 mph, which is nuts when you consider most people don’t even get close to that.
I kept at it, though. I even watched some of those workout videos she’s famous for. Man, those things are intense! They’re all about building power and getting that extra oomph in your swing.
My Results
- Distance: I definitely added some yards to my drive, but I’m still nowhere near Lexi’s level. Maybe it’s her technique, or maybe it’s those crazy workouts she does. I did manage to add like 20 yards to my average, which I’m pretty stoked about.
- Accuracy: This is where I really saw improvement. I’m hitting the fairway more often, which is huge. It’s not just about distance, it’s about control, too, you know?
- Overall: It’s been a fun little experiment. I learned a lot about my own game and got to appreciate just how good these pros are. Plus, it gave me a good excuse to spend more time on the golf course!
In the end, I’m not hitting it like Lexi Thompson, but I’m definitely better than I was. It just goes to show, a little dedication and a whole lot of practice can make a big difference. And hey, it’s always good to have a goal, right? Maybe one day I’ll get closer to that 275-yard mark, but for now, I’m happy with my progress.
