Okay, so I’ve been getting into collecting sports cards lately, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride. Today, I want to share my little adventure with collecting Mac Jones rookie cards – you know, the quarterback for the New England Patriots.
It all started when I saw some buzz about this guy online. I did a bit of digging and found out that he signed with the Patriots in 2021, a four-year contract worth over fifteen million dollars. Not bad, huh? He even got his master’s in sports hospitality with a 4.0 GPA. This got me thinking his cards might be worth something.
So, I started checking out the different sets his cards are in. Man, there are a lot – at least 54 different sets! I quickly learned that some cards are way more valuable than others. Like, his 2021 Donruss Downtown card? That thing’s price was all over the place.
- First, I hit up some online marketplaces to see what was out there.
- Then, I started comparing prices. The average seems to be around $15, but they range from like a dollar to over 400! Crazy, right?
- Next, I dove into forums and collector groups. People were saying that the value of these cards might go up, and the trick is to find the good brands at decent prices.
I decided to focus on a few specific cards. For example, I looked at his 2021 Panini Donruss card, the 2021 Panini Prizm Draft Picks, and the 2021 Panini Donruss Optic. I used some price tracking tools.
Here’s what I did:
- Set up price alerts for the cards I was interested in.
- Kept an eye on auctions and sales.
- Tried to snipe some deals when the prices dropped.
It’s been a learning process, for sure. I’m still figuring out which cards are the best investments and how to spot fakes. But hey, it’s fun, and who knows, maybe I’ll strike gold with one of these Mac Jones cards. This is just one of my collections, I’ll share more later.
