Okay, so I’ve been keeping this blog for a while now, and today I want to talk about something I’ve been calling “Marlon McKinney’s List.” It’s not as fancy as it sounds, just a collection of stuff I find interesting, mainly about the Vols.
So, I started this thing a while back. It was December 16, if I remember right. I came across an article about this 4-star running back, and how he had Tennessee on his list of favorite teams. That got me thinking, why not keep track of these things? So, I began rounding up links and articles related to the Vols.
I started posting these lists on different platforms, just sharing what I found. One day I shared a list, I think it was February 16, 2018, and I remember writing something about Pruitt not wanting unrealistic expectations for the first Vols recruiting class. It was a mix of different things, really.
- Some were about specific players, like that Vol signee Mincey.
- Others were more general, like coach’s comments or team news.
Then, I decided to make it a regular thing. I started compiling these links daily for a website. I would search for news, articles, anything related to the Vols, and put them all together in one place. I would look for recent posts, like the top posts of July 5, on a subreddit that I liked.
I also remember this one time, there was a game against the South Carolina Gamecocks. It was a bit of a sloppy performance, but the Vols managed to get a win. I included that in one of my lists, along with other news from that day. It was September 25, a Sunday.
People seemed to like it. They found it useful to have all this information in one place. It wasn’t anything groundbreaking, just a simple way to keep up with the Vols.
So that’s basically what “Marlon McKinney’s List” is all about. It’s just me, sharing my passion for the Vols and keeping track of what’s happening with the team. It’s been a fun little project, and I hope to keep it going for as long as I can.
