So, I got into this game, Risk of Rain 2, you know, it’s pretty fun. The other day, I was messing around with this thing called “Artifact of Devotion.” It’s a wild ride, let me tell you.
I activated it at the start of a run. It’s supposed to replace those broken drones and turrets with these Lemurian Eggs. And you gotta give items to these eggs to hatch little Lemurian buddies. It’s like a weird pet system, kinda.
First thing I noticed, all those broken drones scattered around? Poof, gone. Replaced by these eggs. I was like, “Alright, let’s see what this is about.” So, I start feeding them items. You drop an item near an egg, and it absorbs it. After a bit, the egg hatches, and you got a little Lemurian running around, helping you out.
Now, here’s the tricky part. These little guys, they’re not the brightest. They’ll follow you, shoot at enemies, but they have a tendency to, uh, walk off cliffs. Yeah, not fun when you’ve invested a bunch of items into them. I learned that the hard way. Lost a couple to some deep pits. Felt bad, man.
But when they’re not taking a dive, they’re pretty helpful. They share items between them, so if you give one a healing item, they all get the benefit. I tried stacking some healing items on them, like slugs and the War-Kit. They were healing up pretty good, dodging about, and shooting the enemy.
Here’s another thing I found. I gave some of my Lemurians a Dio’s Best Friend. You know, that item that lets you revive? Well, I thought it would work like it does on players. But nope! When a Lemurian with a Dio’s gets taken out, it’s gone for good. Lost the Dio’s and the Lemurian. I was hoping they would just come back, but no such luck.
I also tried giving them some offensive items. The Tesla Coil seemed to work pretty well. They’d run into a group of enemies and zap them. It was pretty effective, especially in tight spaces. I’m thinking of trying out other offensive items too. Maybe the Genesis Loop and see how that goes.
I kept experimenting with different item combinations, trying to see what works best. It’s a lot of trial and error. Sometimes it works great, sometimes it’s a disaster. But that’s part of the fun, right?
- Start the run: Activate the Artifact of Devotion.
- Find Eggs: Look for Lemurian Eggs instead of broken drones.
- Feed Eggs: Sacrifice items to hatch Lemurians.
- Equip Lemurians: Give them healing or offensive items.
- Avoid Cliffs: Try to keep them away from edges.
- Experiment: Try different item combinations.
Overall, the Artifact of Devotion is a cool addition to the game. It changes the gameplay quite a bit. You gotta think more about where you’re going and what items you’re using. And it’s pretty satisfying to have a little army of Lemurians following you around. Just watch out for those cliffs!
It’s a different way to play, that’s for sure. If you’re into Risk of Rain 2, give it a shot. It’s a fun challenge, and you might discover some new strategies. Just remember what I said about the cliffs and the Dio’s. You don’t wanna make the same mistakes I did!
It feels like taking care of a bunch of pets.
I will explore this function in the future.
See you next time.
