Okay, so I got really interested in what Matthew Pavon was playing, especially after seeing him tear it up recently. You know how it is, you see a guy playing well, and you immediately wonder what gear he’s using.

My Process Finding Pavon’s Gear
First thing I did was just start searching around online. I hit up a few golf forums and equipment sites, typed in “Matthew Pavon WITB” or “Matthew Pavon golf clubs”. You get a lot of bits and pieces, sometimes conflicting stuff early on, especially right after a tournament.
I usually start with the big stick, the driver. It’s often the easiest to spot or find info on. I looked through photos from recent tournaments, zooming in on the clubhead and shaft. Pretty quickly, I saw he was gaming a PING driver, looked like the G430 LST model. Finding the shaft took a bit more digging, comparing photos, maybe catching a glimpse during a TV broadcast replay. Eventually confirmed it was a Fujikura Ventus TR Blue.
Getting the Woods and Irons Sorted
Next up, I looked for his fairway woods. Same process really, checking photos, looking for equipment articles from reliable golf news places. Saw he had a PING G430 Max fairway wood. Sometimes they carry a hybrid too, sometimes another fairway wood, so I kept an eye out for that. Seemed like he just had the one fairway wood for a bit.
The irons are always interesting. I looked for clear shots of his bag or him hitting approach shots. The PING logo was obvious, and they looked like blades or very small players’ cavities. After cross-referencing a few photos and maybe an article quoting gear reps, I settled on the PING Blueprint S irons for most of the set, maybe with a Blueprint driving iron or similar at the top end. It took a bit of comparing pictures to be sure of the exact models.
Wedges, Putter, and Ball
Wedges can be tricky with all the different grinds and lofts. Again, zoom-in photos are key. I could see the PING logos, looked like the Glide Forged Pro model based on the shape. I tried to spot the loft numbers stamped on them, saw things like ’52’ and ’58’ popping up consistently in different sets of photos and equipment lists.
The putter is usually quite distinct. I saw him using a PING mallet, looked very much like a PLD model, maybe the DS72 shape. You see enough putts on TV, and you start recognizing the head shapes. Confirmed it looked like the PING PLD DS72 putter from pictures.
Finally, the golf ball. This one’s often easier as players tend to stick with one ball. A quick search usually brings this up, or you might see the logo on the ball in close-ups. Found out he’s playing the Titleist Pro V1.

Putting it all together
So after all that looking around, comparing pics, and reading bits here and there, I put together my list of what he seems to be using consistently right now:
- Driver: PING G430 LST (Shaft: Fujikura Ventus TR Blue)
- Fairway Wood: PING G430 Max
- Irons: PING Blueprint (Maybe S model, potentially a mix)
- Wedges: PING Glide Forged Pro
- Putter: PING PLD DS72
- Ball: Titleist Pro V1
It’s always cool to see what these top guys are trusting out there. Took a bit of searching and comparing, but that’s usually how I figure out these WITB rundowns. You piece it together from different spots until you get a clear picture.
