Okay, so, I gotta tell you about this whole Monday qualifier thing for the Waste Management Open. It was a wild ride, let me tell you.
First off, I woke up super early, like before the sun was even thinking about coming up. Got dressed in my lucky golf outfit—you know, the one that’s supposed to magically make me play better. Spoiler alert: it didn’t work that well, but hey, at least I looked good.
Then, I headed out to the course. It was pretty quiet at that time of the morning, which was nice. I met up with a few other guys who were also trying to qualify. We were all a bit nervous, but mostly excited to just get out there and play.
The Practice Round
- Warmed up on the range. You know, the usual: stretching, hitting a few balls, trying not to look like a total fool in front of everyone.
- Played a quick practice round. It was helpful to get a feel for the course conditions.
- Realized I was way more nervous than I thought I would be. My hands were shaking a bit on the first tee.
- Tried to calm myself down with some deep breaths. It kind of worked.
The Qualifier
When it was time for the actual qualifier, things got real, fast. I started off okay, but then I had a couple of rough holes. I sliced a drive into the rough, three-putted on one hole, and just generally felt like I was losing it.
But then, somehow, I managed to pull it together. I hit a few good shots, made a couple of important putts, and finished strong.
The Result
I didn’t end up qualifying, unfortunately. But you know what? I didn’t completely embarrass myself either. I learned a lot, and it was a pretty cool experience overall. Plus, I got to play on a great course and meet some interesting people.
So yeah, that’s my story about the Monday qualifier for the Waste Management Open. It was tough, it was fun, and it was definitely something I won’t forget.
