Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into the 2027 NFL Draft class lately, and man, it’s a wild ride! I wanted to share my process and what I’ve been up to, because, frankly, it’s been consuming a lot of my time.

First, I started by just getting a feel for the landscape. You know, who are the big names being thrown around? Which positions are supposedly deep? Which teams might be tanking in a few years? It was all very general at this point.
Scouring for early info
- I spent hours on those mock draft websites. You know the ones, with the super early projections that are probably, like, 5% accurate? But hey, gotta start somewhere.
- I dug through some college football forums. There’s always some die-hard fan who’s already tracking the high school recruits and making bold predictions. Some of it’s garbage, but sometimes you find a nugget of insight.
- I even tried to find some highlight reels of these high school kids. It’s tough because a lot of them don’t have much out there yet, but you can sometimes get a glimpse of their raw talent.
Then, things got a little more organized. I created a simple spreadsheet (yeah, I’m a nerd, I know). I listed out the top players by position, based on what I was seeing online. I added columns for their high school, their current recruiting rankings, and any notes I had about their playing style.
It’s been a slow process. It’s like trying to build a puzzle with half the pieces missing. And, to be honest, I fully expect this list to change drastically over the next few years. Guys will emerge, guys will fall off, injuries will happen. That’s just the nature of the beast.
The frustration part
It’s also pretty frustrating at times. The information is so limited. There’s no easy way to watch film on all these players. You’re relying on second-hand accounts and the occasional blurry highlight video. It’s a lot of guesswork, really.
But, you know what? That’s also part of the fun. It’s like being a prospector, sifting through the dirt, hoping to find a gold nugget. And when you do stumble upon a player who looks like he might be special, it’s a pretty cool feeling.
So, that’s where I’m at with the 2027 NFL Draft class. It’s a long-term project, for sure. I’ll keep updating my spreadsheet, keep digging for information, and keep sharing my thoughts as things develop. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, and I am buckled for a long time.
