You know what? This thing about Parks and that Bandecchi girl, it’s got me all riled up. Like, who’s better? Who’s the top dog in this tennis thing? I hear folks talkin’ ’bout it all the time, and I got my own thoughts, you know?
So, this Parks, Alycia Parks, she’s a young one, born in 2000. December 31st, that’s what I heard. And that Bandecchi, Susan Bandecchi, she’s a bit older, born in 1998, July 1st. Couple years difference there. Don’t know if that makes much difference in hittin’ that little ball, but there you go. They both play the tennis you know.
Now, who’s got more of them… whatchamacallits… titles? That’s what them fancy folks say when they mean who’s won more games. I seen it on that internet thing. They say these two go head-to-head, whatever that means. Sounds violent if you ask me. They got all these numbers and things, statistics they call it. Makes my head spin. But it all comes down to who plays better, right? Head to head? I don’t know.
I heard some folks sayin’ one’s better than the other. They say this Bandecchi girl is good, and then others say Parks is the one to watch. It is like a match you know. They even talk about some Snigur girl too. Don’t know her. But it’s all about who hits that ball better, I reckon. It is a tough game you know.
And these… tournaments. They got all these fancy names for ’em. And rankings! ATP and WTA, sounds like alphabet soup to me. But it’s how they figure out who’s the best, I guess. Like I said, lots of numbers. And they got these live scores, too. Like you can watch ’em playin’ right then and there. Amazing what they can do these days. Live stream they call it. All these things about tennis.
Some folks even put money on it! Betting, they call it. Like, they’ll say Bandecchi will win, or Parks will win, and they put their money where their mouth is. I don’t understand it, but to each their own, I suppose. They even bet on who wins the first game, or the first set. Too complicated for me. I just want a good time with my friends, no money needed.
And you know, they talk about parks, like, the places with trees and grass. Not this tennis Parks, but the other kind. They say they’re important, and I agree. We used to have lots of those when I was a little girl and I used to play with my friends there all the time. But now they build houses there.
- Parks are good for kids.
- Parks are good for fresh air.
- Parks are where you can relax.
Now I’m not one to cause trouble, but these parks are essential, you know? A place for the young’uns to run around, get some fresh air. We need more parks, not less. They have to run somewhere. It is better than being on that phone all day you know.
They say these houses and gardens are important too. Well, of course they are. People need a place to live. But we need parks too! It’s about balance, you know? Not too much of one, not too little of the other. This is important you know. We need balance in our lives.
So, this Parks and Bandecchi thing, it’s got me thinkin’ about more than just tennis. It’s got me thinkin’ about how things change, how some things are more important than others. The tennis is just a game you know.
Like, is it more important to have a place to live, or a place to play? Is it more important to win a game, or to have a place where kids can run around? These are important questions.
I don’t know all the answers. I’m just an old lady, what do I know? But I know what feels right. And it feels right to have a place where you can breathe fresh air, where you can watch the kids play, where you can just sit and be. Parks and tennis are very different you know.
So, yeah, this Parks vs. Bandecchi thing. It’s a big deal in the tennis world, I guess. But in the grand scheme of things, maybe it ain’t so big after all. Maybe there are bigger things to worry about. Like making sure we have enough parks for everyone. You know what I mean?
