Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Penny in Brawl Stars, trying to figure out which Star Power is the best. I’ve always liked Penny, her attack is pretty unique, and those coins splashing everywhere are satisfying, but I wanted to really dig in and see which one gives me the edge.

First, I tested out “Balls of Fire.” The idea is that the cannonballs set the ground on fire, dealing extra damage over time. Sounds cool, right?
- I started by dropping Penny’s turret in Gem Grab. My thinking was, I could control a key area and force enemies to walk through the fire.
- It worked okay-ish. The fire did some extra damage, but honestly, it wasn’t a game-changer. People just, you know, walked around it most of the time.
- I tried it in Heist too, thinking I could set the safe on fire. Again, it was fine, but not amazing. Enemies could still get to the safe, and the fire damage wasn’t enough to really stop them.
So, “Balls of Fire” was a bit of a letdown. It’s not bad, but it didn’t feel like it was making a huge difference.
Moving on to “Heavy Coffers”
This Star Power makes it so that when Penny’s turret gets destroyed, it shoots out a bunch of bombs. This sounded like it had way more potential to me.
- Back to Gem Grab. This time, I placed the turret a little more aggressively, kind of baiting enemies to attack it.
- And boom! (Literally.) When they destroyed the turret, the bombs went off, and I actually managed to take out a couple of enemies who were low on health. Nice!
- In Heist, this Star Power was way better. I put the turret near the safe, and when enemies tried to take it out, the bombs did a good chunk of damage to the safe and the enemies.
- I even started using the turret as a kind of shield. I’d drop it in front of me when I was low on health, knowing that if enemies destroyed it, they’d get a face full of bombs.
Conclusion time! After playing a bunch of matches with both Star Powers, I’m definitely on team “Heavy Coffers.”
“Balls of Fire” is okay, but “Heavy Coffers” just feels way more impactful. It’s great for area control, it punishes enemies for destroying the turret, and it can even be used defensively. It added to the coin splash of penny and the area control is much more effective. So, if you’re a Penny player, I’d definitely recommend giving “Heavy Coffers” a try. You might be surprised at how much it improves your game!
