Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Rickie Fowler fella and his rankin’. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I hear things and I see things.
Folks been talkin’ ’bout Rickie. He’s been playin’ that golf game, you know, the one with the little white ball and the sticks. Seems like he’s been doin’ alright, but also not so alright, if ya catch my drift.
Now, they got this thing called the “Official World Golf Rankings”. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Apparently, it matters where you stand on that list. Top 50 is good, real good. They say you get all sorts of benefits bein’ up there. Like, maybe better tee times, more money, who knows? But Rickie, he wasn’t up there for a while. Two years, they say! That’s a long time to be wanderin’ in the wilderness, like a lost sheep.
- They say he finished T14 at somethin’ called the Wells Fargo Championship. Don’t ask me what that is, sounds like a bank to me. But that’s what got him back in the top 50. Good for him, I say. He musta been swingin’ them sticks real good that day.
- Now, I heard somethin’ ’bout him winnin’ somethin’. First time since 2019, they say. That’s a long spell without winnin’, like a farmer waitin’ for rain in a drought. But he did it, that Rickie. He won somethin’. Good for him, I say again.
But then I hear other things too. They say he’s ranked 73rd now. See? It changes all the time, like the weather. One minute you’re up, the next you’re down. Life’s like that, ain’t it?
They got these other things too, like PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions and the Swinging Golfer. Sounds like a bunch of fancy names for the same thing to me. And somethin’ called Korn Ferry? Sounds like somethin’ you’d eat, not somethin’ you’d play. But apparently, it’s all important in that golf world.
This Rickie fella, he’s also part of somethin’ called the “Golf Boys”. Sounds like a bunch of hooligans to me, but they say it’s just him and some other fellas, Ben Crane, Bubba Watson, and Hunter Mahan. They play golf together, I guess. Maybe they go fishin’ too, I don’t know.
But here’s the thing, last year Rickie didn’t do so good. Finished outside the top 100 in somethin’ called the FedEx Cup. Sounds like somethin’ you’d drink coffee out of, but it ain’t. And he missed all the postseason stuff. That ain’t good. That’s like missin’ the harvest after you planted all them seeds.
So, where does Rickie Fowler stand? Well, it depends on who you ask and when you ask ’em. He’s up, he’s down, he’s winnin’, he’s losin’. It’s a rollercoaster, that’s what it is. But he’s still out there swingin’ them sticks, and that’s somethin’, ain’t it? Keeps him busy, I reckon. Better than sittin’ around watchin’ the grass grow.
Rankings and standin’s, they matter to some folks, I guess. But to me, it’s more about whether you’re a good person, whether you treat folks right. That’s what really matters in the end. But hey, if Rickie can make a livin’ hittin’ that little white ball, more power to him, I say. He ain’t hurtin’ nobody, and that’s more than you can say for some folks.
So, next time you hear ’em talkin’ ’bout Rickie Fowler’s rankin’, you just remember what I told ya. It’s up, it’s down, it’s all over the place. Just like life, I reckon. Just like life.
Rickie Fowler ranking is somethin’ that changes, but the important thing is he keeps on playin’. That’s the spirit, I say. Just keep on keepin’ on, like an old mule pullin’ a plow.
