Okay, so, let’s talk about this whole “Rodemaker transfer” thing. I’ve been following this guy for a while, you know, Tate Rodemaker, the quarterback. He was at Florida State, wasn’t doing too bad, but it seemed like he wasn’t getting the playing time he wanted. He started that one game against Florida, that final regular-season one, and they won! 24-15, I remember it well.
But then, boom! Christmas surprise, not the good kind. Rodemaker decides he’s gonna enter the transfer portal. Everyone’s buzzing about it. I saw it, too.
I started digging around, trying to figure out where this guy might end up. There were all these rumors. I read somewhere that he had a head injury or something around the time of the last game, which complicated things a little bit. It’s kind of a wild west out there with this transfer portal stuff these days, right? Everyone’s jumping ship, looking for a better spot. You can’t blame them, I guess.
- First, I checked out some news about Florida State. Turns out, Rodemaker wasn’t even on the trip to play against some team called the Bulldogs. That pretty much confirmed he was outta there.
- Then, I saw that three schools were really going after him: South Carolina, Tulane, and Southern Miss. Makes sense, right? ACC experience, he’s got some talent, obviously. I guess those three teams were doing everything they can to get him.
So, I waited. And waited. And finally, news broke in early January. Rodemaker had chosen Southern Miss! He’s going to be playing for Will Hall’s team there. I saw a picture of him in a Southern Miss uniform, it looked so weird. I was used to seeing him in that Florida State gear!
I guess he decided that Southern Miss was the best place for him to get some more playing time. I mean, that’s why he left Florida State, right? He wanted to be the starting quarterback, the main guy. Can’t really fault him for that. He’s a competitor. He’s a good player.
It’s going to be interesting to see how he does at Southern Miss. They’re getting a Power Five transfer, a guy who’s played at a high level. I bet the fans there are excited. I know I’m excited to see what he does. I wonder if he will start right away.

Well, Rodemaker’s at Southern Miss now, battling it out to be the starting quarterback. He took a chance, made a big move, and now he’s got a fresh start. It’s a whole new chapter for him. I wish him the best. It’s a tough decision to transfer, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Hope he makes the right choice.
