Well, let me tell ya, there’s this gal named Sable, real pretty one, you might’ve heard of her. She used to be all over TV with them big wrestling shows, WWE, they call it. Now, Sable, her real name’s Rena Lesnar, but folks mostly know her by the name Sable. She was born a long time ago, back in 1968, and she’s done a lotta things in her life, ya know. Not just wrestling, but she was a model too, and even acted a bit in some movies. But, oh, that wrestling—she sure left her mark there!
She first showed up in WWE back in 1996, and let me tell ya, she was somethin’ to look at. Pretty face, strong as a bull, and didn’t take no nonsense from nobody. She wasn’t there just to look good either. She got right into the mix, fought her battles, and didn’t let anyone push her around. Her first big moment was at WrestleMania, back when she walked out with Triple H, but that didn’t last long. See, Triple H, he treated her real bad, and well, she didn’t take kindly to that, so along came Marc Mero, and he rescued her. That’s when things really started heatin’ up for her in WWE.
Now, Sable’s time in WWE wasn’t all roses, no sir. In fact, things got mighty ugly in 1999. There was a lot of trouble, and she filed a lawsuit against WWE, claiming all kinds of things like mistreatment and unsafe workin’ conditions. I don’t know much about all that legal stuff, but she sure made a big splash when she left the company. After that, she had her own battles to fight, and she moved on with her life.
But don’t you think for a second that Sable stayed gone. Oh no, she came back to WWE in 2003, after she and her husband Marc Mero went their separate ways. It wasn’t long before she hooked up with another big wrestler, Brock Lesnar. They made a real nice couple, and Sable seemed happier than ever. She kept poppin’ up on WWE TV here and there, even though she wasn’t in the ring much. Didn’t need to be. Her presence was enough to keep fans excited. A lot of folks thought she should’ve been put in the Hall of Fame, but for whatever reason, that never happened. Some legends in the sport, they even questioned why she ain’t in there, and I reckon they got a point.
Even though she wasn’t wrestling every night like some of them other folks, Sable made a big difference. She showed up, and people noticed. Her beauty, her strength, her attitude, it all made her one of the biggest stars of that time. Now, folks might not always remember every match she had, but they sure remember her. And that says somethin’, don’t it?
WWE, the company where she spent so much of her time, has grown a whole lot since then. It’s a big ol’ business now, owned by TKO Group. But even with all the new folks comin’ in and the changes happenin’ in the world of wrestling, Sable’s name still comes up every now and then. She did her part, and she did it with style.
So yeah, if you ever get a chance to watch some of them old WWE matches from back in the day, keep an eye out for Sable. She might not have been the champion or the most famous wrestler, but she sure made her mark, and that’s somethin’ to be proud of.
