Okay, so I saw this thing online about the San Francisco 49ers and their helmets, and I thought, “I gotta try this out!” I’m a huge 49ers fan, and I always love messing around with my gear.
It was about honoring Dave Wilcox, a Hall of Famer who passed away. Apparently, they put a “64” sticker on the back of their helmets during the Super Bowl. I figured it’d be cool to do something similar with my own helmet.
First, I grabbed my old 49ers helmet. It’s a replica, of course, not a real one. Then I needed to find something to make the “64” sticker. I didn’t have any fancy sticker-making stuff, so I just used some regular paper and a marker.
I looked up a picture of the actual helmet sticker online to get an idea of the font and size. It’s a pretty simple, blocky number.
Next, I drew out the “64” on the paper. I’m not the best artist, so it took a couple of tries to get it looking decent. I made it big enough to be noticeable but not too huge that it would cover the whole back of the helmet.
- Find a helmet (replica or real).
- Gather materials (paper, marker, scissors, tape).
- Draw the “64”.
- Cut it out.
- Attach it to the helmet.
After I was happy with the drawing, I carefully cut it out. Then came the tricky part: attaching it to the helmet. I didn’t want to use anything permanent, so I just used some regular tape. I folded the tape over to make it double-sided and stuck the “64” onto the back of the helmet, right in the center.
The Result
And that was it! It’s not perfect, but it’s a pretty good representation of what the 49ers did to honor Dave Wilcox. It’s a small thing, but it felt good to do something to remember a legend. It’s now proudly displayed on my shelf!
