Alright, let’s talk about this Shawn Michaels fella and his, uh, “ring attire,” as they call it. I ain’t no fancy wrestling expert, mind you, just a regular person who’s seen a match or two on that there TV. But even I can tell ya, that Shawn guy, he sure liked to dress up.
First off, what’s with all the hearts? Heartbreak Kid, they call him. More like Heart-breakin’ my eyes with all them shiny, sparkly hearts all over his pants and jackets. I tell ya, it was somethin’ else. Looked like he raided a Valentine’s Day store or somethin’. And all that shimmery, shiny stuff? My grandson has glitter on his art projects that looks just like it.
Now, I heard tell he got all religious later on, wanted somethin’ “earthy.” Said he was made by God, which, well, ain’t we all? Anyways, he asked for some brown pants, I guess. Sounds kinda plain to me, but hey, whatever floats his boat. But the story goes he asked too late, so they didn’t have time to make ’em special. So, no fancy brown pants, I guess.
- He wore chaps sometimes. Now, chaps, them’s for cowboys, right? Ridin’ horses and such. What’s a wrestler doin’ wearin’ chaps? I guess it looked kinda tough, with all the fringe and leather. But still, made me chuckle a bit.
- And them boots! Always so shiny and tall. Looked like he could kick a mule with them things. Probably cost a pretty penny too. My old work boots are lucky to last a year, let alone lookin’ all fancy like that.
- Then there were the jackets. Lots of ’em, all different colors and designs. Some with hearts, some with his initials, some with just plain sparkles. He had more jackets than I have sweaters, and that’s sayin’ somethin’. Kept changin’ ’em too, like he was havin’ a fashion show or somethin’.
I reckon he wanted to stand out, you know? Make a statement. All them bright colors and shiny bits, it was hard to miss him. And that hair! All long and flowing. Reminded me of them rock stars on the MTV, all wild and crazy. He sure knew how to put on a show, that’s for sure.
People say he’s one of the best wrestlers ever. I dunno about all that. I’ve seen some tough fellas in my day. But he was definitely somethin’ different. All that flippin’ and flyin’ around, and then the way he’d stomp his feet before he did that sweet chin music thing. Bam! Lights out. He was a good showman, I’ll give him that.
I remember seein’ him on TV once, and he fell down in the ring. Said he got a concussion, but later on, I heard it was just part of the show. Fooled me, that’s for sure. These wrestlers, they’re good actors, I tell ya. They can make you believe anything. Just like them fancy clothes they wear, it’s all part of the act, I figure.
And now he’s turned 53, they say? Well, time flies, don’t it? Seems like just yesterday he was a young fella, all full of energy and jumpin’ around. Now he’s probably sittin’ on his porch, sippin’ iced tea, just like the rest of us old folks. Maybe he’s wearin’ them brown pants he always wanted. Who knows?
But one thing’s for sure, that Shawn Michaels fella, he sure knew how to dress the part. Whether you liked it or not, you couldn’t ignore him. He was a character, that’s for sure. And that ring attire, well, it was just part of the whole package. A loud, sparkly, heart-covered package. But hey, that’s wrestling for ya. It ain’t supposed to be subtle.
So that’s my take on Shawn Michaels’ clothes. Not that anyone asked, but there ya have it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about wrestlin’ has made me hungry.
