Okay, so I’ve been digging into this Spencer Sanders guy and his potential for the 2024 NFL draft. Let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster.
First off, I started by checking out what the big-name analysts were saying. I noticed that some folks were talking about how the Kansas City Chiefs didn’t pick a quarterback in the draft, which got me thinking about where Sanders might fit in.
Then, I went down the rabbit hole of Sanders’ college career. It seems like he didn’t exactly lock down the starting QB spot at Ole Miss in 2023, which was a bit of a red flag. But I also saw that he transferred there from Oklahoma State, and Lane Kiffin himself brought him in. That’s gotta mean something, right?
I started watching some of his game footage, trying to get a feel for his style. I saw some people were hyping him up as a dual-threat quarterback, so I paid close attention to his running game. He’s definitely got some moves, no doubt about it.
My Findings
- Transfer Drama: I spent a good chunk of time trying to figure out why he transferred and what that meant for his draft stock. Did he not fit the system? Was there some behind-the-scenes stuff going on? It’s hard to say for sure, but it definitely makes you wonder.
- Upside Potential: Despite the transfer, I kept seeing mentions of his “upside.” People seem to think he’s got raw talent that could be developed at the pro level. I guess that’s why I saw him listed in the top 20 prospects at one point.
- Mock Drafts: I looked at a bunch of mock drafts to see where people were projecting him to go. It was all over the place, honestly. Some had him going pretty high, others not so much. Makes it tough to get a real read on his chances.
I even checked out his profile on that sports network, you know the one with the initials, to get some basic stats and news updates. Nothing groundbreaking there, but it helped fill in some gaps in my understanding.
After all this digging, I’m still not 100% sure what to make of Spencer Sanders. He’s a bit of a wild card, I guess you could say. He’s got the potential, but there are definitely some question marks. It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up and how he does at the next level. I’ll for sure be keeping an eye on him. Hope this was somewhat helpful, maybe?
