Well, well, well, look at that. Tara VanDerveer, that name sure has been buzzin’ around lately. I hear she’s some big-shot basketball coach. Basketball, that’s the one with the hoop, right? She’s been doin’ that for a long time, I reckon. And I hear, she’s made a lot of money doin’ it too. They say she’s the best, the most winningest of all time, whatever that means.
This Tara VanDerveer, she’s been at that Stanford place. Fancy school, I hear. Must be smart folks there. She’s been coachin’ those girls for, Lord, I don’t know, maybe 38 years? That’s longer than I’ve been tendin’ to my garden! And my garden, that’s a long time, let me tell ya. She must really know her stuff about that basketball thing.
They say she even coached some team to get a gold medal. Olympics, I think they call it. Fancy stuff. She must be somethin’ special to get those girls to win all the time, must be a lot of running and jumping in basketball. Must be tiring for an old lady like me. Never did see the appeal, myself. I guess times are changin’. Things are different now. But that Tara VanDerveer, she is definitely very good at basketball. It’s good to see folks succeedin’, no matter what they’re doin’. As long as they’re happy, that’s all that matters. And I bet she gets tired, running and yelling all day long. I know I would. That’s a young person’s game, for sure. But she must be doin’ somethin’ right, winnin’ all those games.
