Thaw All the Shards Out in Genshin: A Plain Guide
Okay, so you’re playin’ this Genshin game, right? And you gotta thaw out some shards. Sounds fancy, but it ain’t. It’s just like meltin’ ice, kinda like when you gotta get water in the winter, only this ice is magic or somethin’.
First thing’s first, they say these shards are in some place called Dragonspine. Sounds cold, real cold. Like that time the well froze solid back in ’68. Anyway, you gotta go there. It’s all icy and snowy. Bundle up, I say! Wouldn’t want you catchin’ a chill.
Now, to melt this magic ice, you need fire. Not just any fire, though. You gotta use them Pyro characters. The game calls ’em that, but to me, they’re just fire folks. They got the heat, see? Like Diluc or that little Klee girl. They throw fire around like it’s nothin’. Wish I had someone like that to light the stove in the mornin’!
- Find the Shards: They ain’t gonna jump out at ya. You gotta look for ‘em. They’re hidden around, sometimes under the ground, sometimes in caves. Just keep your eyes peeled.
- Scarlet Quartz is Your Friend: This here Scarlet Quartz, it’s like a magic rock. Glows red, it does. You gotta break it, then pick up the little red stone it drops. That little stone, that’s where the real heat is.
- Hit the Ice: Once you got that red stone, smack that shard with it. Just a regular ol’ smack will do. But you gotta be quick, that red stone heat don’t last forever. Gotta hit it a few times, three or four they say. Like choppin’ wood, but with fire.
They say one of them shards is near somethin’ called Wyrmrest Valley. Sounds like a dragon’s nap spot to me. And another one’s in a place called Entombed City Outskirts. City of the dead, huh? Creepy. But that’s where the ice is, so you gotta go. The game tells ya where to go, mostly. Just follow the map, they say. Maps weren’t this fancy back in my day, let me tell ya.
So, you find the shard, it’s probably got a barrier around it. Like a fence, but made of ice or somethin’. You gotta fight some monsters first, get rid of ‘em. Then that barrier goes away. Then it’s the Scarlet Quartz and smackin’ time.
Don’t forget, these shards are stubborn. You might gotta hit them a few times. And you might gotta find more than one Scarlet Quartz. Just keep at it. Like churnin’ butter, it takes a while, but you get there in the end.
Specifically, for the Entombed City Outskirts Shard: It’s on the left side of where the monsters are hangin’ out. On the way to the city, or what’s left of it, I guess.
And for that last shard, the one they say is tricky? It ain’t where they say it is, exactly. They tell you one place, but it’s really a little south of there. Near a teleport thingy. Look for a round spot on the map, cuttin’ into the mountains. That’s where it is.
This whole shard thing is part of a quest, they call it. Means you gotta do stuff to get stuff. Like life, I guess. Always gotta be doin’ somethin’.
So, that’s it. Find the place, find the shard, get the red stone, hit the ice. Simple as that. Don’t overthink it. Just like makin’ a stew, follow the recipe and you’ll be fine. And if you get stuck, just ask around. Someone always knows somethin’. Or just keep tryin’. That’s what I always say.
Remember to use your fire folks. They’re the key to this whole thing. And keep an eye out for that glowin’ red rock. That’s your ticket to meltin’ that magic ice.
Good luck to ya. Hope you thaw them shards out quicker than I can thaw out a frozen chicken on a winter morning!
And don’t forget to have fun! It’s just a game after all. Not like real life, where you gotta deal with real frozen pipes and such.
