Alright, folks, let’s dive into my little adventure with “the high harper” in Baldur’s Gate 3. I gotta say, figuring this out felt like untangling a giant ball of yarn, but hey, that’s half the fun, right?

Getting Started
So, first things first, I needed to actually find this “high harper”. My initial thought was, “Okay, harpers, secret organization, probably hiding somewhere.” I started by poking around the usual places, you know, taverns, shadowy corners, that sort of thing. No luck. I even asked around, chatting up every NPC I could find, but most of them just gave me the “I don’t know what you’re talking about” routine.
Following the Clues
Then, I stumbled upon a slightly cryptic note. It wasn’t much, just a few lines about a meeting place and a password. Classic spy stuff. This is where things got interesting. I headed to the location mentioned in the note – it was some back alley I’d probably walked past a dozen times before. And sure enough, there was a seemingly ordinary door.
IKnocked three times, paused, and then I remembered that secret passward to say,and mumbled the password. The door clicked open, and I was in!
The Encounter
Inside, it was, well, a bit underwhelming. Just a small room, a few crates, and a single figure standing in the shadows. Turns out, this was the high harper, or at least, someone claiming to be. We had a chat, and they laid out a quest for me – something about retrieving a lost artifact. Sounded simple enough, but you know how these things go in RPGs, right? Never as easy as it seems.
The Quest Itself (a Bit of a Blur)
- I tracked down the artifact, which involved a bit of dungeon crawling.
- I fought off some nasty creatures guarding it. Nothing my trusty sword couldn’t handle, though.
- Then there was a puzzle. Oh boy, I’m not the biggest fan of puzzles. But, I managed to figure it out after a few (okay, maybe more than a few) tries.
- Finally, I returned the artifact to the high harper.
The Reward
For my trouble, I got a pretty sweet reward. Not just gold, but a unique item that actually boosted one of my character’s stats. Totally worth the hassle! And, of course, I unlocked another quest line, because that’s how these things always go. One adventure leads to another!
So, that’s my story of finding and dealing with “the high harper” in BG3. Not the most glamorous tale, but a good example of how a little persistence (and a lot of running around) can pay off in these games. Hope this helps anyone else who’s scratching their heads over this one!
