Alright, let’s talk about them fellas from that Kansas school, the ones playin’ ball in the NBA. You know, that fancy basketball league.
Them Kansas Boys in the Big League
Now, I ain’t no expert, mind you. But even I know them Kansas fellas, them Jayhawks, they’re a big deal in college basketball. Always hearin’ about ’em on the TV. Folks say they winnin’ all sorts of championships. Seems like every year they got some new young’uns headin’ to the NBA. Makes you proud, kinda, even if you don’t know a lick about the game.
Heard tell there’s a whole bunch of ’em playin’ in the NBA right now. Let me see if I can remember some of their names. Folks talkin’ about this Joel Embiid fella, big as a house, they say he’s a real star over there with them 76ers. And that Kelly Oubre, too, playin’ with Embiid, I reckon. Good for them, makin’ a name for themselves.
Then there’s this Ochai Agbaji and Gradey Dick, both playin’ for the Raptors up in Canada, I think. Cold up there, I hear. Hope they bundled up good. Markieff Morris and Quentin Grimes, they’re with the Mavericks. Don’t know much about them, but if they’re from Kansas, they gotta be good, right?
- Some Names I Heard
- Joel Embiid (76ers)
- Kelly Oubre (76ers)
- Ochai Agbaji (Raptors)
- Gradey Dick (Raptors)
- Markieff Morris (Mavericks)
- Quentin Grimes (Mavericks)
- Christian Braun (Nuggets)
- Johnny Furphy (Pacers)
- Kevin McCullar Jr. (Knicks)
- Svi Mykhailiuk (Jazz)
- Andrew Wiggins (Warriors)
And that Christian Braun boy, he’s with the Nuggets, won a championship, I heard tell. Good for him, workin’ hard and gettin’ somewhere. Johnny Furphy’s with the Pacers, and Kevin McCullar Jr.’s playin’ for the Knicks in that big city, New York. Svi Mykhailiuk, now that’s a mouthful, he’s with the Jazz. And don’t forget Andrew Wiggins, he’s with the Warriors now, another one of them big-time teams.
Kansas Basketball – A Big Deal
They say Kansas basketball is somethin’ special. Been around a long time, even before I was born, I reckon. Heard tell the fella who invented basketball, Dr. Naismith or somethin’, he was at Kansas way back when. No wonder they’re so good. They got a history, they say. Win all sorts of conference titles, more than anyone else, apparently. Folks call ’em a “blue blood” program, whatever that means. Sounds fancy, though.
Every year, they got these young fellas gettin’ drafted into the NBA. Heard a couple of ’em got picked in the first round just recently. That’s a big deal, I guess. Means they’re real good, the best of the best. Makes you wonder what they feed them kids in Kansas.
Remembering the Old Timers
And speakin’ of Kansas fellas in the NBA, folks always talkin’ about this Wilt Chamberlain fella. Said he was one of the greatest ever to play the game. Played way back when, before my time, but even I know his name. Guess that Kansas school been producin’ good basketball players for a long, long time.
So, yeah, that’s what I know about them Kansas basketball players in the NBA. A whole bunch of ’em, doin’ good, makin’ a name for themselves. Good for them, I say. Representin’ their school and makin’ folks back home proud. Even if I don’t understand all the ins and outs of that fancy basketball game, I can appreciate hard work and success. And them Kansas fellas, they seem to have plenty of both.
Basketball Season is a Big Thing
Come basketball season, seems like that’s all folks talk about. March Madness, they call it. Everybody fillin’ out them brackets, tryin’ to guess who’s gonna win. Kansas is always in the mix, seems like. Heard they get a lot of attention durin’ that time. Good for the school, I guess. Brings in money and such.
And then, after college, them good players, they go off to the NBA. And folks keep followin’ ’em, seein’ how they do in the pros. It’s a whole cycle, seems like. From Kansas to the big league. And it all starts with that basketball program, that blue blood thing they got goin’ on. Must be somethin’ in the water over there in Kansas, makin’ all them good basketball players.
Well, that’s all I got to say about it. Hope it made some sense. Like I said, I ain’t no expert, just tellin’ it like I see it. Them Kansas boys, they’re doin’ alright in the NBA, and that’s somethin’ to be proud of, I reckon.
