Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with Finn Balor for a while now, and his tattoos are just… chef’s kiss. I finally decided to take the plunge and try to map them out, understand them, maybe even get inspired for my own ink. It was a journey, let me tell you!

Phase 1: The Deep Dive into Google Images
First thing I did? I hit up Google Images. I searched for everything: “Finn Balor tattoos,” “Finn Balor back tattoo,” “Finn Balor arm tattoo,” you name it. I wanted every angle, every high-res shot I could find. I spent hours just scrolling, saving pictures, zooming in, trying to get a good sense of the overall design and individual elements.
Phase 2: Creating the “Inspiration Board”
- I created a folder on my desktop just for Finn’s tattoos.
- I dumped every single picture I found in there. It was a mess, but a beautiful, inky mess.
- I started to organize them – back pieces together, arm pieces together, close-ups of details…
It’s look like that, I had a virtual mood board dedicated to the Demon King’s body art.
Phase 3: Trying to Sketch It Out
I’m no artist, let’s be clear. But I grabbed a sketchbook and some pencils anyway. I wanted to try and piece together how everything flowed. I started with the big back piece. It is a bit of a sprawling design, It was tough! Lots of erasing, lots of squinting at the pictures, lots of “wait, is that line connected to that other line?” moments.
Then I moved onto the arm tattoos. These were a bit easier, since they’re more contained, individual pieces. Still, getting the proportions right and capturing the details was a challenge.
Phase 4: Realizing I Needed a Break (and More Coffee)
After a few hours, my eyes were crossed, my hand was cramping, and I was pretty sure I’d drawn the same swirl about 50 different times. I decided it was time for a break. I made myself a strong cup of coffee and watched some Finn Balor matches to, you know, “further my research.”
Phase 5: Back at It (with Renewed Determination)
Okay, coffee consumed, wrestling watched, I was ready to tackle this again. I focused on one specific element at a time – a particular symbol, a specific shading technique. I found that breaking it down like that made it much less overwhelming. Slowly, I get my sketches, and begin to get a better understanding of how the tattoos are laid out and how they work together.
Phase 6:The “Aha!” Moment
After a while, i had that “aha!” moment.I can clearly see the flow of ink and the whole picture.
I’m still no closer to actually drawing them perfectly, but I feel like I finally get them, you know? It’s like I’ve cracked the code, at least a little bit. It’s a satisfying feeling, even if my sketches still look like a toddler’s doodles compared to the real thing.

So, that’s my Finn Balor tattoo deep dive. It was messy, it was frustrating, but it was also pretty fun. And hey, who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually get the courage to get some ink inspired by the Demon King himself.
