Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another story from my life. Today’s a bit different, more on the personal side, all about the journey towards having kids, or “Tim Tebow kids,” as the search might put it. So, let’s dive right in.
It all started back in 2018. I bumped into this amazing woman, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, at my own charity event, “Night to Shine.” We hit it off. She’s a real gem. Fast forward, we got hitched, and the topic of kids naturally came up. It was always something I wanted, you know, a big, happy family. My parents raised five of us, and that’s something I’ve always valued.
Getting Ready
- Talking it out: Demi and I had lots of chats about what we wanted. These were heart-to-heart talks, figuring out our dreams and how kids fit into that picture.
- Making it official: Yeah, we tied the knot. It was a beautiful day, surrounded by loved ones. This was a big step, laying the foundation for our future family.
- Leaning on faith: Just like my parents instilled Christian beliefs in us during our homeschooling days, Demi and I also lean heavily on our faith. It’s a big part of who we are and how we plan to raise our children.
Then, in January 2023, our little bundle of joy, Harper James, arrived. Man, holding her for the first time, that was a moment I’ll never forget. It’s a whole new world, being a dad. It’s like, all those years playing football, working with the SEC Network, none of that really prepares you for the sheer joy and responsibility of having a kid.
Being a dad now, it’s a wild ride. There are sleepless nights, sure, but there are also these incredible moments of pure love. I’m figuring it out day by day, just like any other new parent. We’re a team, Demi and I, and we’re raising Harper with all the love and faith we have. My mom, Pamela, and my dad, Bob, they’ve been married since ’71. They’re a great example of a strong, loving partnership, and that’s what I aspire to with Demi.
So, that’s the story of how I went from being a football and baseball guy to a full-time dad. It’s not always easy, but it’s the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. Having a family, raising kids, it’s a whole new ballgame, and I’m loving every minute of it. Thanks for tuning in, folks. Catch you all in the next one!
