Okay, so I was staring at my fantasy draft board, or maybe it was the waiver wire, doesn’t matter, the point is I had this choice: Dallas Goedert or Kyle Pitts. It really took me a minute to figure out which way I wanted to go.

My First Look
First thing I did was just pull up their basic stats from last season. You look at Pitts, and yeah, the guy put up some decent yardage, especially for a tight end. Remember all the hype when he came into the league? Freak athlete and all that. You see the potential, clear as day.
Then there’s Goedert. Maybe not as flashy name-wise, but when he played, he produced. Felt like he was pretty steady with Jalen Hurts, part of a good offense over there in Philly.
Thinking About Goedert
So I started digging into Goedert a bit more. What I liked:
- Good Offense: The Eagles can move the ball, lots of scoring chances.
- Connection with QB: Seems like Hurts looks his way often enough.
- Reliability (mostly): When he’s healthy, he feels like a pretty safe bet for decent points most weeks. Not gonna kill you.
The downside was maybe the ceiling isn’t super high? Like, he’s good, but is he gonna win you a week on his own? Plus, Philly has those two stud wide receivers.
Thinking About Pitts
Then I flipped over to Pitts. The appeal is obvious:
- Huge Talent: The guy is built different. Big, fast, mismatch nightmare.
- Potential Target Hog?: With Atlanta’s receiving options, you figure he should get a ton of looks.
- The Upside: If things click, this dude could finish as the TE1 overall. That potential is tempting.
But man, it just hasn’t fully happened yet consistently. And the QB situation in Atlanta has been shaky, though maybe the new guy changes things? It felt like more of a gamble.
Going Back and Forth
I spent a good chunk of time just thinking it over. Pulled up some articles, read what some other folks were saying. One minute I was leaning Goedert for the safety, the next I was thinking about Pitts’ league-winning upside. It’s tough, you know? Do you take the solid floor or swing for the fences?
I looked at their schedules, checked injury reports again. Nothing really jumped out to make the decision super easy. It just felt like one of those classic fantasy football toss-ups.

My Decision: Went with Goedert
In the end, I landed on Goedert. Why? Honestly, it just felt like the slightly safer play for my team build. I already had some risky guys elsewhere, so I wanted a tight end I felt I could rely on for something most weeks. Goedert seemed like the better bet for consistent production, even if Pitts might have that one massive game.
It wasn’t easy, and I totally get why someone would go the other way. Pitts could easily prove me wrong and have a monster season. But for my team right now, Goedert felt like the slightly better fit. Just gotta trust my gut on this one and see how the season plays out. Keeping my fingers crossed!
