The New Boys
Nowadays, they got this young fella, Isaac Wilson, playin’ quarterback. He’s just a baby, really. They call him a “true freshman.” Sounds kinda silly, don’t it? But they say he’s doin’ alright. He’s gotta fill some big shoes, that’s for sure. Hope he can handle it. They say he got his chance cause the other fella, Cameron Rising, got hurt. Poor boy. It’s always sad when someone gets hurt playin’ a game. Hope he gets better soon.
They talk about some other boy, Tyler Huntley, went to Utah from somewhere down south. Seems like he was a good player too. He even got to play for the Dolphins, ain’t that the team in Florida? Good for him. They call him “Snoop,” that’s a funny nickname. He musta been a good one if he got to play for the big teams.
All Them Players
Lots of boys from Utah went on to play in the big leagues. They call it the NFL. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Good for them, I reckon. Must be nice to get paid to play a game. They say there’s been almost 200 of ’em drafted from Utah. That’s a whole lotta boys! I bet their mamas are proud.
Utah football, it’s a big deal, I guess. Lots of folks watch it. Cheer for their team. It’s all a bit much for me, but I s’pose it’s excitin’ for some. Rememberin’ the Past
They say this Utah football quarterback history goes way back. I don’t know how far back, but a long time, I reckon. They used to play football a little different back then. No fancy helmets or nothin’. Just a leather ball and a whole lotta grit. Them boys were tough back then.
That Egger boy, they said he was good. They said he had a 58 percent completion rate, whatever that means. He could throw that ball far, that’s for sure. Over 5,000 yards! That’s like throwin’ it from here to, well, I don’t know where, but it’s far!
Utah, they’ve been playin’ football for a long time. They’re one of the big teams now, they say. They call it the “upper echelon”. Sounds mighty important, don’t it? They got some of the best players. They must be doin’ somethin’ right.
This one fella, Kyle Whittingham, he’s the coach. They say he’s been there a long time. Must like it there. He must be a good coach if they keep him around. I heard that Rising boy, the one that got hurt, he was pretty good too. They say he got hurt at some game against Arizona. They lost that game, too. Shame. But that’s how it goes sometimes.
Lookin’ to the Future
This young Isaac Wilson, he’s got a lot of folks watchin’ him now. Hope he can handle the pressure. Playin’ quarterback for Utah, that’s a big deal. Gotta be tough, gotta be smart, gotta be able to throw that ball just right. It ain’t easy, that’s for sure.
