Okay, so, let me tell you about this Von Wagner thing. I’m a big wrestling fan, always have been, so I started to notice this guy, Von Wagner, popping up on NXT. Big dude, 6’5″, looked like he could be a real powerhouse. I heard that he’s actually a second-generation wrestler. His dad, Wayne Bloom, was in the business back in the day, so wrestling is kind of in his blood.
I started digging around, found out his real name is Calvin Bloom and he was born in 1994. Played some college football before this, so he’s got that athletic background. It was interesting to me, and I made a decision to follow his wrestling career from the beginning.
Anyway, I started following his matches on NXT. He had a few early ones where he was trying to make a name for himself. Even saw him go up against Pete Dunne. I watched all of his matches and found out he had around 101 matches. I remembered that he signed with WWE in 2019.
I did some research and practiced some basic wrestling moves, like takedowns, escapes, and pinning techniques. It’s just a hobby, but I like to understand what these guys are doing in the ring. I learned from videos and I drilled all of the moves I learned.
I was also checking out wrestling forums and news sites. There was a lot of talk about him online, some good, some not so good. Then, out of nowhere, I saw this report from Fightful saying that he had been released. It was quite surprising for me because I followed his career for a long time.
I felt a bit bummed out. I was looking forward to seeing what he would do next. But that’s how it goes in the wrestling business, I guess. People come and go. I am still a bit shocked about what happened, and wonder what will he do next.
So, that’s my Von Wagner story. Started off curious about this big guy, followed his journey, got invested, and then, boom, he’s gone. Just another day in the life of a wrestling fan, I suppose. But I thought it’d be an interesting tale to share. He still has a long way to go, he can find another promotion and keep improving himself, so I decided to keep following his steps in the future.
