Alright, so, I jumped into this MLB The Show 24 thing, started up the Road to the Show mode, you know, and I was thinking, “How do I get my player traded to a different team?” I messed around with it for a bit.
First, I just played the games. Played a bunch of games, did my best, hit some dingers, made some catches, you know, the usual stuff. I noticed my player’s stats were going up, so I figured that was important. I kept grinding, playing through the first season, and nothing. No trade.

First Season
- Played a ton of games.
- Stats went up like crazy.
- No trade happened.
Then, during the off-season, I started poking around in the menus. I found this “My Ballplayer” section and then went into “Improve Player”. There’s a tab there called “Archetype Program”. I fooled around in there, trying to boost my player’s attributes, hoping that would make a difference.
Started the second season, and still nothing! But I kept at it. I kept playing well, trying to be the best player I could be. I figured the better I played, the more likely some team would want me.

Second Season
- Still no trade at the start.
- Kept playing, kept getting better.
Then, bam! Mid-season, I got a notification. My agent called! He said there was a team interested in trading for me. Finally! I went through the dialogue options, said I was interested, and boom, I was on a new team.
So, basically, what I learned is you gotta play well and be patient. It seems like it takes some time, maybe a season or two, for teams to notice you. Just keep improving your player, keep performing on the field, and eventually, you’ll get that trade request.
It’s not like you can just click a button and say, “Trade me!” You gotta earn it, you know? It was a bit of a grind, but I finally got it! I hope this helps you figure it out too. Good luck out there!
