Alright, let’s talk about this fella, Wesley Bryan. Don’t know much about golf myself, but I heard some things, you know, from the TV and such. They say he’s a golfer, a professional one at that. Means he gets paid to hit them little white balls around, I reckon.
Now, this Wesley fella, he’s American, born in 1990. That makes him… well, I ain’t good with numbers, but he’s younger than my grandson, that’s for sure. They say he plays on somethin’ called the PGA Tour. Big deal, I guess. Lots of fancy folks watchin’ him, probably.
- He hits the ball far, they say. More than 300 yards! Can you believe that? That’s like, I don’t know…farther than I can throw a rock, that’s for darn sure. They call it “driving distance.” Sounds like he’s drivin’ a car, not hittin’ a ball, but what do I know?
- And they got these numbers, “Strokes Gained” this and “Strokes Gained” that. Confusin’ stuff, if you ask me. But it seems like sometimes he’s good at hittin’ the ball close to the hole, and sometimes, well, not so good. Like anythin’ in life, I guess. Some days you’re good, some days you’re…well, you ain’t.
This boy’s been playin’ for a while now, and he’s made some money, too. Millions, they say! Can you imagine? All that money for hittin’ a little ball. Must be nice. He’s won four tournaments, which seems like a lot. Good for him, I say. Work hard, play hard, that’s what my old man always used to tell me.
They also say he’s got somethin’ to do with YouTube. You know, that internet thing where folks post videos? I don’t watch that stuff myself. Too busy with my garden and my chickens. But apparently, he’s kinda popular on there. Guess folks like watchin’ him play golf, or maybe he talks about golf. Or maybe he just makes funny faces, who knows? The young folks like all sorts of strange things these days.
And if you’re really into this golf stuff, you can look up his “world golf ranking.” Sounds important. They got charts and graphs and everything. I don’t understand them charts and graphs, they give me a headache just looking at them. But if you’re into that sort of thing, go ahead and look it up. They say he’s been ranked for years, so he must be pretty good at this golf thing.
They also have these things where they compare him to other golfers. See who’s better, I guess. Like comparing apples and oranges, if you ask me. Everyone’s different. But people seem to like it. They got “performance rankings” and all that. It’s all just a bunch of numbers to me.
He’s got somethin’ called “stats” too. More numbers! They got stats for everything these days. How far he hits the ball, how many times he hits it, how close he gets to the hole…you name it, they got a stat for it. I don’t need no stats to tell me if someone’s good at somethin’. I can see it with my own two eyes.
And get this, one time he played a whole round of golf in an hour and 29 minutes! That’s fast! I can barely make a pot of coffee in that time. And he played his best game that day, too. Maybe he should play fast all the time, huh? He’s got standings, too. On the PGA Tour and some other thing called Champions. Sounds fancy.
So, that’s what I know about Wesley Bryan. He’s a golfer, makes lots of money, hits the ball far, sometimes good, sometimes not so good, got YouTube, got rankings, got stats, plays fast sometimes. Seems like a busy fella. Hope he’s happy doin’ what he’s doin’. That’s all that matters in the end, ain’t it? Bein’ happy.
In short, Wesley Bryan is a pretty good golfer, from what I hear. He’s been playing professionally for a while and has made a name for himself. He’s known for his long drives and his presence on YouTube. If you’re a golf fan, you’ve probably heard of him. If not, well, now you have.
