My Journey Mapping the WWE Bloodline Family Tree
Alright, so I got really into this whole Bloodline thing in WWE. Roman Reigns, The Usos, Solo Sikoa… then The Rock pops in. It got me thinking, how are all these guys actually related? It sounds simple, but watching the shows, things get kinda twisted with the storyline stuff versus real family ties. So, I decided, you know what? I’m gonna map this out myself. Just for my own understanding.

First thing I did was just start watching old clips and paying closer attention during SmackDown and the PLEs. Listening to commentary, the promos. But honestly, that only gets you so far. They mix kayfabe (storyline stuff) with reality constantly. It’s confusing!
So, the next step? I went online. Not looking for fancy charts someone else made, because where’s the fun in that? I wanted to piece it together myself. I started digging through wrestling wikis, looking up the Anoa’i family specifically. That’s the real core family name everyone talks about.
Gathering the Pieces
Man, this family is HUGE. Seriously. I started jotting down names on a notepad.
- Okay, Roman Reigns… his dad is Sika Anoa’i. Sika was part of the Wild Samoans tag team with his brother, Afa. Got it.
- The Usos, Jimmy and Jey. Their dad is Rikishi. Okay, how does Rikishi fit? Found out Rikishi’s dad is Solofa Fatu Sr., and he’s Afa and Sika’s brother. So, Rikishi is Roman’s first cousin. That makes The Usos Roman’s first cousins, once removed. See? Already getting complicated.
- Then Solo Sikoa. He’s Jimmy and Jey’s younger brother. Easy enough. Same dad, Rikishi.
- Where does The Rock fit? Dwayne Johnson. His mom, Ata Maivia, is the daughter of “High Chief” Peter Maivia. Peter Maivia was considered a “blood brother” to Amituana’i Anoa’i, who is Afa and Sika’s father (Roman’s grandfather). So, The Rock isn’t technically Anoa’i by blood but Peter Maivia was inducted into the family. They call each other cousin. Close enough for wrestling!
- Then you got others like Yokozuna (Rodney Anoa’i), he was Rikishi’s cousin, making him Roman’s first cousin too. Umaga (Eddie Fatu), Rikishi’s brother, so Usos’ and Solo’s uncle, and Roman’s first cousin.
It got messy quick. My notepad was full of arrows, question marks, and crossed-out lines. Keeping track of who was whose uncle, cousin, nephew, first cousin once removed… it was a headache. Plus, you have all these other wrestlers connected through marriage or distant relations. It’s like a giant web.
Putting it Together (Sort Of)
After gathering all these names and connections, I tried making a proper tree. I just used a simple drawing tool on my computer, nothing fancy. Started with the older generation, Amituana’i Anoa’i and Peter Maivia at the top as key figures.
Then I branched down. Added Afa and Sika, their siblings, Peter Maivia’s daughter Ata. Then the next generation: Roman, Rikishi, Yokozuna, Umaga, The Rock. And finally, the current guys: The Usos and Solo.
It wasn’t perfect. There are debates about who is “really” family versus “honorary” family like Peter Maivia’s side. And the term “cousin” gets used super loosely, just like in lots of big families I guess. Plus, the WWE “Bloodline” stable itself is a specific group chosen by Roman, not the entire Anoa’i family tree.
But, after spending a good chunk of time on it, I had my own visual guide. It definitely helped me understand the connections better when watching the shows. Now when they talk about family legacy and cousins, I have a clearer picture in my head. It was kinda fun, like solving a puzzle, even if it was a bit frustrating sometimes with all the twists and turns. It’s a complex family, that’s for sure.
