Okay, so I got really curious about Conor McGregor’s stats, like his height and weight, you know? So I went on a little mission to find out.
First, I checked out the official UFC website. That’s like the bible for this kind of stuff, right? They have this whole media portal thing, and guess what? They had Conor’s profile right there. It said he’s 5’9″ (which is about 175cm for us metric folks) and his weight is listed as 155 lbs (around 70kg). Pretty standard lightweight stuff, but then it got interesting.
- Height: 5’9″ (175 cm)
- Weight: 155 lbs (70 kg)
- Reach: 74 inches
- Stance: Southpaw (that means he leads with his right, like me!)
- Born: July 14, same date as me, what a coincidence!
But then I remembered that crazy fight he had with Nate Diaz. He jumped up, like, two weight classes to fight at welterweight. I was thinking, there’s no way he was still just 155 lbs then. The dude looked way bigger! It got me thinking about how much these fighters’ weight can actually change between the weigh-in and the actual fight.
So I dug a little deeper, started looking around at some fan forums and stuff. Found out that his real name is Conor Anthony McGregor. Who knew? And they call him “The Notorious” and “Mystic Man”. Pretty cool nicknames, gotta admit.
Then I found this article about him being an Irish mixed martial artist, boxer, and even a businessman and actor. Apparently, he was a champion in both the featherweight and lightweight divisions in the UFC. That’s some serious skills right there.
What I Learned
Basically, it is not easy to keep tracking someone’s height and weight especially a fighter. Their weight changes a lot due to different competition. But anyway, I finally found the data I needed. This whole thing just showed me how much these fighters put their bodies through. It’s crazy! And that’s all I wanted to share with you guys!
