Alright, so I decided to put together my own tier list for Black Clover M. Been playing this game quite a bit lately, you know, sinking hours into it, trying out different teams and seeing what clicks.

First thing I did was just play. A lot. You can’t really rank things if you haven’t used them properly, right? So I spent a good chunk of time grinding through story modes, dungeons, and doing some PvP. I made sure to rotate characters, even the ones I didn’t initially like, just to get a feel for their skills and how they performed in different situations. It took a while, honestly, getting enough playtime with a decent number of mages.
Then, I started jotting down notes. Just simple stuff, like who hits hard, who keeps the team alive, who buffs or debuffs effectively. I wasn’t looking at guides much at this stage, wanted to form my own opinions first based on what I was seeing directly in my gameplay.
Sorting Through the Mages
Okay, after getting a baseline, I started the actual sorting. This was the messy part. I grouped characters roughly by their main job – attackers, defenders, healers, and support types. It helps narrow things down.
Then came the comparing. I’d take two attackers, for example, and think, “Okay, in most fights, who actually gets the job done more consistently?” Or for healers, “Whose heals feel more impactful? Who has better utility besides just healing?” It involved a lot of thinking back to specific battles I’d won or lost and why.
I started putting them into rough tiers. Like, “These guys are definitely top” and “These ones feel kinda weak right now.”
- Top Tier (S): These were the characters that just felt powerful in almost any situation. The ones I kept finding myself relying on.
- Strong Tier (A): Really good characters, maybe not universally broken, but super solid picks for most content.
- Decent Tier (B): Usable characters. They do their job, maybe need specific teams or setups to shine, but not bad.
- Niche/Lower Tier (C and below): Characters I found harder to use effectively or just felt outperformed by others most of the time.
I shuffled characters around a lot. Sometimes I’d move someone up because I remembered a specific fight where they really saved the day, or move someone down because I realized they were only good in one specific mode.
Final Thoughts on the Process
Putting it all together was kind of a headache, but also pretty satisfying. You start to see patterns, like which skills are generally more useful or how certain character combinations work really well. It’s not super scientific, you know? It’s based on my time with the game, what I’ve experienced hands-on.
One thing I noticed is how much team synergy matters. A character might seem average alone but become amazing with the right support. So, the list is kinda general-purpose, based on overall usefulness I guess.

So yeah, that was the process. Played the game, took notes, compared characters based on what I saw, and started slotting them into tiers. Moved them around until it felt about right based on my own experience. It’s definitely my personal take, how things look from my end after spending time actually playing.
