Alright, let’s talk about this World Cup 2025 thing, you know, the one they’re gonna have in America. Sounds like a big deal, they say it’s gonna be huge.
First off, they got this draw thing, happened in Miami. Miami, that’s a fancy place, ain’t it? They did it live on some website, *, whatever that is. My grandson, he knows all about these things, always fiddling with his phone.
So, this World Cup, it ain’t like the regular one with countries. This one’s for clubs, you know, like those soccer teams. Thirty-two of ‘em, they say. Best from all over the world, from places I ain’t even heard of. AFC, CAF, whatever alphabet soup they got.
- They got those Bayern Munich fellas, heard they’re pretty good.
- And that Paris Saint-Germain team, fancy name, huh?
- Inter, Porto, Benfica… sounds like a bunch of foreigners to me.
- Oh, and Borussia Dortmund, they joined up too. And Juventus. Lots of big names, I guess.
They gonna play in big stadiums, real big. One in Miami, that Hard Rock place, holds like 65,000 folks! Can you imagine? And the final, they’re gonna have it in some place called MetLife Stadium, even bigger! 82,500 seats. That’s more people than my whole town, I reckon.
This whole shebang starts on June 15th and goes all the way to July 13th. A whole month of soccer! My grandson’s gonna be glued to the TV, I bet. He already talks about it all the time.
They had some big meeting about it, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Another place I never been. Those FIFA fellas, they travel all over, don’t they? Making all these decisions about soccer.
So, what’s it all about, this FIFA Club World Cup 2025? Well, it’s like a big competition, the best club teams fighting it out to see who’s the top dog. They say it’s a “global event,” which means everybody’s gonna watch it, I guess. My grandson says it’s gonna be bigger than ever this time, ‘cause they got more teams.
And it’s in America this time. That’s something, huh? My neighbor, Agnes, she says her niece lives in Washington D.C., maybe they’ll have some games there too, she says. I told her, “Agnes, you better tell your niece to get me a t-shirt!” She just laughed at me.
This expanded format, they talk about it being “innovative.” I don’t know about that, sounds like more soccer to me! But if it makes my grandson happy, then I guess it’s alright. He gets all excited about these things, you know how kids are.
Thirty-two teams, that’s a lot of soccer players. I hope they got enough oranges and water for all of ‘em. Running around like that, they must get thirsty. And tired! My goodness, I get tired just watching ‘em on TV.
Anyway, that’s the gist of it, this World Cup 2025. Big stadiums, lots of teams, and a whole lotta soccer. Sounds like a big party, even if I don’t understand half of it. But hey, if it brings folks together, that ain’t a bad thing, right? Maybe I’ll even watch a game or two with my grandson. Maybe.
Prepare for FIFA Club World Cup 2025, they say. Well, I’m prepared to make a whole lotta popcorn, that’s for sure. And maybe learn a few new team names, so I can sound smart when my grandson talks about it. Though, knowing me, I’ll probably just call ‘em all “those soccer fellas.” Heh.
